Makhuwa Nahara of Mozambique: Please pray for the team as they begin using new material on the life of Christ with the children at Namiteka. Ask that the children would clearly understand the message of the gospel, and that their hearts would be open to respond in faith and surrender to the Lord Jesus. Pray also for the students in one of the worker’s classes—that they would grow in grace, in understanding, and in the fear of God. Ask that the Lord would shape them into faithful servants who love Him deeply and serve His people with humility, love, and steadfastness.
Whole Families
Amazigh of North Africa: We praise you for both women and men responding to the gospel. We ask that spouses of believers would also believe. Let the church of God know how to walk forward together, men and women, united in prayer as they were in Acts 1:14.
Accessible Scripture
Bara of Madagascar: We praise God for new opportunities to share the message of Christ in local languages through media, storytelling, and community outreach. An online ministry page that shares testimonies and Gospel content has now reached over 1,000,000 views. We are thankful for how God is using simple tools to spread His Word. Work also continues on Bible story recordings that are helping make Scripture accessible to people hearing it in their own language for the first time. Alongside this, ministry continues through children’s outreach, education initiatives, sports ministry, and practical care within local communities. Please pray for endurance, wisdom, and health for local believers and ministry workers as they continue faithfully serving and sharing the hope of Christ. May the Word and work among the Bara bring new life.
Safe Journey
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: With military escort assistance and despite several hours of delay due to a tire puncture, our team safely made the journey from the conflict zone to a safer area. Shortly after they arrived, they received news that another town had suffered a brutal attack, causing widespread panic and massive displacement. Reports indicate burned markets, destroyed property, and loss of life. Keep all those serving in the midst of this crisis in your prayers. One encouraging sign is the heartfelt appreciation many Muslim families are expressing toward the Christians providing practical help and compassionate care. Even amid instability, work continues through discipleship, relief efforts, agriculture-based livelihood recovery, and teacher training. Pray for strength, wisdom, protection, and endurance as our team and their partners serve hurting communities, encourage believers, and help families begin rebuilding their lives. Please ask the Lord to bring an end to this violence, that hearts would be turned to the Prince of Peace!
Intense Conflict
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: The conflict in the Nuba Mountains has intensified. Families in several mountain communities fled their homes after gunfire moved closer to civilian areas. Many spent the night outside, hiding in fields or among rocks with little food or water, unsure if it is safe to return. One local believer shared that children have begun crying whenever they hear distant vehicles because they associate the sound with incoming attacks. Parents are trying to comfort them while carrying their own fear and exhaustion. Pray for protection over families sheltering in remote areas tonight. Pray over local believers as they try to still gather to pray and encourage one another despite the danger. Pray for roads to reopen safely so trapped workers and families can move if necessary. Pray for Peace to overcome fear and violence throughout the region.
God Speaks their language
Karimojong of Uganda: A local believer recently gathered a small group under a tree in a remote community where there is no church to listen to Scripture in their own language. Some came curious, others cautious. As the story of Zacchaeus played from “the Proclaimer” (an audio Bible player), the group listened intently — again and again — discovering new details each time. One young man finally asked, “Is that the voice of God in that little box?” A mother responded with surprise, “Does God speak Ngakarimojong, then?” Another observes, “Jesus went to visit Zacchaeus. (Pointing to the Proclaimer) I think He visited us today!” Many in this community have never heard the Bible before. Pray that hearts would continue opening to Jesus, that these listening groups would grow, and that local leaders sharing God’s Word would be strengthened and protected.
Taboos
Tanala of Madagascar: During our time in Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, taboos have had a significant impact on both daily life and ministry. Recently, we tried to help a woman receive medical treatment, but she was unable to attend even a simple appointment due to fear of breaking certain taboos. While some of these practices reflect cultural wisdom, many are shaped by a deep fear of consequences and a sense of spiritual bondage. Please pray for the Malagasy people—that the truth of the gospel would break through fear and bring true freedom in Christ. Pray Galatians 5:1 over them: “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” Ask that hearts would be set free, that many would come to know the love and authority of Jesus, and that they would walk in the liberty He alone can give.
Transitions and Opposition
Neem of Chad: Please pray for the UPG we call the “Neem” of Chad during a season of significant transition and uncertainty. The team working among this group is experiencing many changes. One teammate is retiring, and another family cannot return because of the visa ban for Americans. Unless the visa situation changes very soon, the one remaining family will need to relocate in June (to a place where they can receive stronger support and serve in community). If these changes proceed, there may soon be no long-term workers remaining in this area. Pray for open doors for future ministry among the Neem. There has been increasing spiritual opposition and community resistance. In one nearby village where deep relationships were once strong, some people are now hesitant to engage openly with foreigners because of pressure from local religious leaders. Pray especially for “Ruth” who has spent years quietly listening to and considering the Good News—that she and others would have courage, conviction of sin, and come to believe in Jesus as Lord. Pray that hearts would open and that seeds planted over many years would bear fruit in God’s timing.
Medical Care for Refugees
Sudanese Refugees: Please pray for the South Sudan region of Upper Nile, where the influx of new refugees is bringing both great challenges and meaningful opportunities for ministry. As medical care opens doors to share the gospel and pray with those who are suffering, ask that many would not only receive physical healing but also have hearts that are open to the Good News of Jesus
Pray for Healing
Makhuwa Nahara of Mozambique: Recently, a small team visited a seriously ill man to pray with him and his family. His mother is Muslim but showed a remarkable openness to listening and engaging in spiritual conversation. It was deeply touching to see how gently the translation team worked with the lady and her son. The people here have very little medical help to turn to. We had heard that witchdoctors are involved in the case. While being sensitive to the fears that are part of the local culture, the team shared about placing trust in Jesus alone. Please pray for this family and others in their community—that they would accept the Way to peace, lasting hope, and spiritual healing. May fear of the spirits be replaced by faith in Jesus.
Prayer for relocation
Nuba Mountain Muslim UPGs: Please continue to carry the Nuba Mountains before the Lord. Over the past week, the situation in the Kauda, Heiban, and Otoro/Shuwaia regions has deteriorated rapidly. Escalating violence has directly impacted ministry teams, facilities, and the communities they serve, leaving many families displaced and living in uncertainty. Pray for an immediate de-escalation of the conflict and for peace to prevail. Pray for strength, wisdom, and discernment for local church and ministry leaders as they care for hurting communities under immense pressure. Ask the Lord to comfort those grieving loss, separation, fear, and instability. Please also pray that believers in the mountains would remain steadfast in faith and continue boldly testifying to the hope they have in Jesus, even in the midst of crisis. Pray especially for our workers preparing to travel tomorrow for temporary relocation because of the ongoing tribal conflict that has displaced thousands. They are trusting the Lord for protection and peace as they journey toward a more secure area, where they hope to spend two weeks participating in an agriculture and teacher-training program before departing the Nuba region later next month. Please pray for safety on the roads, wisdom in every decision, open paths for travel, and ultimately for an end to the violence that has torn so many lives apart.
Bible Translation Progress
Antandroy of Madagascar: Please pray for the Antandroy people of Madagascar, a group of about 930,000 living in the arid, extreme south of the country. Pray especially for those working in difficult environmental and economic conditions, that they would experience both God’s provision and His mercy. Give thanks that Bible translation is progressing among them, with the four Gospels, Acts, and several epistles now available in both print and audio formats. Pray for the team working alongside local churches, and for the pastor who is broadcasting the Jesus (1979 film), asking that these resources would be used powerfully by God to reveal Christ. Ask the Lord to bring a true breakthrough of the Gospel among the Antandroy—that His Word would take root deeply, and that many would come to faith in Jesus. Pray for spiritual awakening and revival across communities, that hearts would be turned to Christ and entire families and villages would be transformed by the Good News.
Growth and Obedience
O of Kenya: Pray for the protection and spiritual growth of new believers among the O. Ask that their devotion to Jesus would deepen into wholehearted obedience and love. Pray for guidance and opportunity for each person to take the step of baptism, (even the leader hasn’t been baptized yet), and for boldness and willingness to share their faith with others.
Gospel opportunity in hardship
Toposa of South Sudan: Please also pray for provision and stability in the wider environment affecting ministry in South Sudan. Rising fuel costs—driven in part by ongoing global instability—are making daily life and ministry increasingly difficult. Aviation services which missionaries and humanitarian workers rely on heavily, have also been significantly impacted. Pray that God would intervene in these broader pressures, bringing provision where there is scarcity and stability where there is disruption. Above all, ask that even in these challenging circumstances, the Gospel would continue to advance—that those who do not yet know Christ would encounter His love through acts of service, mercy, and faithful witness, and that many would turn to Him in faith.
A Dear Family Friend
Borderless African Diaspora: Pray for A. from North Africa. She continues to want to spend time with us, yet doesn’t know what to make of the Gospel. She is a faithful Muslim, and we’ve really sensed the great spiritual struggle taking place within her over this past year. A. is a dear, special friend of our family and we want to see her come to know Jesus! Pray specifically that she will agree to come to our Ascension Camp in two weeks, May 13-17. Pray that the hearts of each attendee will be open to the Truth they will hear there!
Questions about the Trinity
Chadian Arabs: Praise God for a meaningful panel discussion held during the final S2 class, where students engaged thoughtfully with questions about the Trinity. The conversation sparked interest and deeper reflection among the eight students present. Each of them now has access to God’s Word, creating opportunities for continued learning and growth. Pray that they would remain motivated to keep reading, studying, and seeking truth beyond the classroom.
Healing and Light
Islanders: Lord, we lift up H a local believer who is suffering from a serious and mysterious illness. You see every detail, and nothing is hidden from You. We ask for Your mercy, Your power, and Your presence to surround him. In Jesus’ name, we pray for complete deliverance, restoration, and full healing—body, mind, and spirit. Strengthen his spouse S as she cares for him and their children. Give her peace, endurance, wisdom, and protection in every decision she faces. Guard this family from confusion, fear, and any influence that does not come from You. His family is trying to press Q’ranic medicine and dark practices on them. Let Your truth and light prevail in their home. We also ask for guidance and strength for those supporting them. Give them discernment, compassion, and unity as they stand alongside this family. Lord, we hold onto hope—that this situation will turn into a powerful testimony of Your faithfulness, healing, and glory. May Your name be lifted high through every step of this journey.
Culture Meets Scripture
Gabbra of Kenya: Some of the workers recently completed a course called Culture Meets Scripture, which they are hoping to use in discipling believers among the Gabbra people. The course is designed to help participants carefully examine how Scripture aligns with—or challenges—different cultural practices, and to consider how to faithfully move forward in light of God’s Word. Please pray for wisdom and clarity as the team prepares to take this material and share it with local leaders. Ask that these discussions would be guided by the Holy Spirit, and that they would lead to deep understanding of the gospel and healthy, rooted discipleship. Pray especially that many would come to see that following Jesus is not the rejection of their identity, but the transformation of it—that someone can be a faithful Christian while still fully belonging within Gabbra culture. Ask that God would raise up strong local leaders who rightly handle His Word and faithfully shepherd new believers in truth, grace, and love.
Word of God
Makhuwa Nahara of Mozambique: In a recent radio broadcast the team posed the question, “Was there ever a time when Jesus was not there?” There are teachings in Islam from their book that alludes to Jesus being eternal, stating that Jesus is the “Word of God.” In this episode the team sought to clearly show how Jesus was and is a lot more than “Just a Carpenter,” Pray that hearts would be stirred to consider this truth.
Under the Mango Trees
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: In the Nuba Mountains, the Church often gathers beneath mango trees—not by choice. Conflict has damaged buildings and made large gatherings risky, and the threat of drones means worship must often take place away from visible structures. Yet on a recent Sunday, around two hundred believers met together in the shade to sing, pray, and hear the Word of God. This quiet act of worship reflects resilience, steadfast faith, and a determination not only to endure, but to continue obeying the Gospel even in the midst of hardship. There are many unreached peoples throughout the Nuba Mountains—pray that these faithful believers would be stirred to take up the Great Commission, going to those nearby who have never heard the Good News or had the opportunity to know the love of Jesus. Ask that God would use their courage and witness to draw many to Himself.
Chaplain
Borderless UPGs: Please pray for one of our local imams who is now serving as a hospital chaplain. He has expressed that he feels unprepared to care for Christian patients, which has opened a door for me to share Scripture and gospel-centered resources drawn from my own 40 years of pastoral visitation in hospitals. Pray that as this friend reads and reflects on God’s Word, the Scriptures would deeply pierce his heart, revealing the truth and beauty of Jesus in a personal and transformative way. Ask that the Holy Spirit would soften his heart, remove any barriers to belief, and draw him into a saving knowledge of Christ. Pray not only for his salvation, but that God would raise him up as a powerful witness to the Truth within his community—that through his story and testimony, many others would have the opportunity to encounter Jesus and hear the Good News. Give thanks for this unique opportunity and ask that God would use it in ways far beyond what we can see, bringing light, hope, and salvation to many.
Eyes on Jesus
Arabs of North Africa: An Arab believer called on Resurrection Day to say that she and her sister continue to walk with Jesus although two others have fallen away because of fear. Lord Jesus, we know that perfect love casts out fear and you are Love. Strengthen our brothers and sisters to know your unshakable love that lasts throughout eternity. Let each one see this temporary world with a right perspective… and fix their eyes on the eternal.
Resurrection Power
Amazigh of North Africa: We worship you, Lord and exalt your name. Thank you for the powerful wind of the Spirit breathing new ones alive. We know it is the resurrection power of God that is raising up dry bones. Thank you for those gathering daily to pray and listen to your word, for each one telling others, for the new believers at almost every meeting. We pray that each one who shares the gospel will continue to disciple faithfully, that none would fall away after responding with joy.
Pray for Culturally Relevant Gospel Resources
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for gospel materials in the S. language and Arabic dialects. Ask God to guide the development of oral storytelling, audio recordings, and culturally appropriate discipleship tools. Pray that these resources would clearly communicate the message of hope and reconciliation in Jesus. Ask that they would be widely shared and received across both the O and the S communities.
Intentional Study Outside Class
Chadian Arabs: Pray especially for four students who have begun exploring the Bible stories more intentionally outside of class. Their growing curiosity is an encouraging sign, and they are taking steps to engage personally with God’s Word. Ask that as they continue studying, their hearts would be open and their understanding would deepen. Pray that God would reveal Himself clearly to them and guide them toward faith.
Radio Outreach
Makhuwa Nahara of Mozambique: In this week’s radio outreach, the team did not try to directly confront the Islamic teaching that the faithful (men) will one day be rewarded by 72 eternal virgins in heaven. Instead, the broadcast explained the beauty of the eternal Jerusalem. That Jesus said in heaven there is no marriage but something better. Following the program, there was a period of quiet from the Muslim listeners. Then one man phoned in and said, “I always wondered why God only gave Adam one wife!” Then different callers began to voice the same doubts they’ve harbored regarding polygamy and a virgin filled heaven. Afterward, a team member said, “Tonight we haven’t offended people, we’ve relieved them of a burden.” Pray please this week as we address another “hot topic” i.e., that in heaven, all nations, tribes and tongues will be present, that Arabic holds no special place. Pray for wisdom, clarity, and openness among listeners—that these conversations would continue to stir thoughtful questions and genuine spiritual hunger.
In Christ Alone
Alagwa of Tanzania: Please pray for N, who just got baptized, to be sealed in union with Christ and the Spirit, and to grow in faith and courage. Pray for protection against all attack. Pray also for Mama S to finally come to the place of renouncing all other powers and receiving Jesus – not just to use him for healing, but to give herself to him completely.
Dowry Ceremony
Somalis of East Africa: Recently at a dowry ceremony the bride and her mom received support and prayer in the name of Jesus. Pray that tangible service leads to deeper trust for conversations around the Word. May this mom and daughter have open hearts for the Truth and discover a Love for Jesus and the good news.
Missionary Journey
Toposa of South Sudan: Pray for a group of church planters and disciples who are traveling soon to the Jie region for evangelism and to strengthen local churches. Ask God for a fruitful harvest and for many strong, committed believers to be raised up through their efforts. Pray for the provision of resources and safe travel. Pray for good health and unity among the team. Pray for protection as they will be in an area that can experience insecurity due to nearby rebel activity.
Pray for Openness to the Gospel
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Thank God for the reported openness among the S. people at this crucial time. Pray that spiritual barriers would be broken and hearts would be receptive to the message of Christ. Ask God to raise up local leaders who can disciple others in culturally relevant ways. Pray for a sustained movement of prayer and for faith communities to emerge.
Encountering Jesus
Chadian Arabs: As the January–March term has come to a close, pray for the students who have completed both classes. Through these courses, they have encountered many stories from Scripture and gained a deeper understanding of who Jesus is. Pray that the truths they have learned would remain in their hearts and minds. Ask that they would respond by surrendering their lives to the one true God.
Community Groups
O for Kenya: Pray for ongoing encouragement and wisdom for a local leader “T” who has been meeting regularly with small groups of new believers in different areas. He is planning to spend extended time with each group on a rotating basis to strengthen fellowship and spiritual growth. Ask that these gatherings would be meaningful, unifying, and fruitful.
Light in the Dark
Somali of East Africa and Diaspora: Pray for the Light of Jesus to penetrate the darkness of the minds of all those who have said yes to reading the scriptures but do not yet see and understand. Pray that the words of truth sown into the hearts of these dear ones, would bear 100x fruit. For S and M and their whole family, for A and her whole family.
Pray for Collaborative Agricultural Projects (ADAPT for Peace)
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for the expansion of agricultural initiatives that bring both S and O communities together. Ask God to bless collaborative farming, aquaculture, and development projects that encourage cooperation and mutual benefit. Pray that shared work would build trust and break down long-standing divisions. Ask that these platforms would naturally create opportunities for reconciliation and gospel witness.
Giving an Answer
Chadian Arabs: Praise God for opportunities to pray with patients and staff in the hospital. These moments open doors for deeper spiritual conversations. Pray that more such opportunities would arise. Ask for wisdom in answering those seeking truth. These conversations require grace, clarity, and cultural sensitivity. Ask that God would give the right words at the right time.
Listening Groups
Karimojong of Uganda: Pray for the launch of a a program called “Scripture Engagement”, promoting listening to and interacting with the Bible in small groups. The program is beginning with 50 audio Bibles with the plan to start Bible listening groups in communities where no one can read and where there are no Bibles. Please pray that as people get access to the Word of God, they will find life in Christ.
Students
Swahili Bantu of East Africa Coast: A few of M students are attending the Christian religion class at the local high school, despite a class on their own religion taking place at the same time in a different room. Pray their eyes and ears to be opened to truth and that they would not just gain information but understand and believe the Good News of Jesus.
Destroyed
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Urgent prayer needed for a situation where recent fighting has devastated ministry among the S people group. Over the past three years, there has been encouraging growth, with new believers, small gatherings forming, and practical developments such as farming, schooling, and micro-business initiatives taking root. Much of this was destroyed and burned during violence last month, leaving local partners displaced and communities scattered. Pray for protection, provision, and encouragement for these believers, and that despite the loss, their faith would remain strong and the gospel would continue to spread even in displacement and uncertainty.
Observant Friends
Chadian Arabs: Pray for ongoing outreach among local friends and community members who have noticed the difference faith has made in the lives of believers. Some have asked for prayer and are observing the impact of faith firsthand. Pray that these relationships would continue to deepen and serve as a strong witness. Ask that God would reveal Himself in powerful and personal ways.
Provision
Somali of East Africa and Diaspora: Pray for H, a young follower and member of our church, who completed his university studies last year and is currently searching for employment. Pray that the Lord will provide the right job opportunity for him and guide him as he begins this new season of life. Pray that he will have a heart for sharing the good news with others.
