⁠We continue to make good progress on the discipleship training center. Please pray for the remaining work to be completed well and in a good time. Also please pray for the M guys working on the project with us. It’s been an amazing opportunity to dive deep in daily Bible study with them. Pray the Lord would continue to work in their hearts and lives and draw them to Himself.

Tanzania has experienced major rioting and protests with the recent election and many people were killed. There was complete lock down in most major cities, all transportation was stopped for days, and the internet was shut down country-wide for days. When there is major unrest, even for only a few days, all places begin to suffer. Though there was no protesting happening in the M area, many village shops began to run out of food and other supplies due to transportation being shutdown. We are hearing that there is more protesting scheduled to happen on Dec 9. Please pray these would be peaceful and that the gov. would choose a good way to listen and work with those protesting that would not result in more death and destruction. Please pray for God’s will to be done here in Tanzania and that whatever happens, His people would shine with His love ready to share the hope that they have in Christ.

We continue to make good progress on the discipleship training center. Please continue to pray for the daily Bible studies with the guys working here. Pray for them to see Christ for who He is and to want to follow Him.

Please pray for Maki, the young new Matumbi believer here we are discipling. His wife still gets very angry at him because he has chosen to follow Jesus. Please pray for her salvation.

Please pray for God to raise up more Matumbi who have an intimate relationship with Jesus and want to live their lives to help others come to know Him.

Please pray for our team to simply help the Matumbi people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and to love Him and follow Him.

We continue to make good progress on the training center. Please pray we can finish what’s needed to be able to host the Matumbi New Testament dedication early November. Pray that in the construction process more would come to Christ.

Please continue to pray for Hemi. He ended up marrying the other woman and divorced his first wife in order to please his family. He is still coming to the Bible studies. Please pray that the Father would draw him to Himself and he would fully surrender his life to Christ.

Please pray for Hemi. He has recently decided to follow Christ but is in the midst of a difficult situation. He is married and prior to deciding to follow Christ had already planned to marry a different woman and divorce his current wife. He has repented and now wants to stay with his current wife and not marry this other woman, but the wedding day was already set and both his dad and the father of the other woman have already finalized everything. So for Hemi to actually follow through and cancel this wedding now is extremely difficult as it would bring shame on his father and his family. He feels trapped. The wedding is set for the 30th of this month. Please pray that he would look to Jesus and He would help Hemi out of this seemingly impossible situation.

We’ve been discipling “Maki”, a young Matumbi man who has fully committed his life to Christ in the last year and is now public about his faith. He has suffered some persecution from his extended family (all Muslim) but has remained strong. He is married and it has been very difficult with his wife who is also a Muslim. We’ve spent a lot of time praying together for his wife and every time he weeps for her begging God to save her. Would you please pause right now and ask the Lord to save Maki’s wife?

Father would you raise up Matumbi disciple-makers who will catalyze a movement that spreads throughout their people and beyond.

Please pray for the work on the training center to continue and for us to be able to finish it by September. Pray the Lord would use this center to raise up more Matumbi disciple-makers to reach their own people and beyond.

We are planning to have a baptism sometime in the next few weeks for about 7-8 new Matumbi believers. Please pray for protection for these new believers as they follow Christ and get baptized.

Please pray for the new Matumbi believers who have left Islam to follow Christ over the last year. Pray for their protection, that they would experience Jesus daily and boldly share how He has changed their lives with others.

The Matumbi New Testament has just been completed and our team is helping our translator partners get a good audio recording of it. There is a team from Faith Comes by Hearing who are coming to the area the next two days to meet with potential voice actors. The rains have made the only road in very bad. Please pray the team can make it and be able to meet with the right people for this project.

The discipleship training center building is under way, and we hope to have the construction finished by August and begin trainings in September. Pray for blessing on this project- both the practical building of the center and its use to be a blessing to the entire people group and beyond! Praise God the Matumbi translation of the New Testament has also just been finished by PBT and we are planning to have the dedication ceremony at the new training center in October!

The Lord continues to draw more M’t’mb’ to himself and is raising up more M’ disciple-makers. We have a new member of the catalyst team, a fairly new believer who was reached and is being discipled by another catalyst team member. Through the two of them and their wives there have been 7 M’ recently reached and they are planning to baptize them soon. Pray for them to grow and mature and share with others the good things God has done for them.

There have been more salvations and several new groups started in several villages. More M and Ndengereko discipleship leaders are being raised up. We have witnessed several miracles the Lord has done recently in some of these new believers that has reinforced their new faith. Though there are great challenges, especially fear of being ostracized. Pray for believers to grow deep roots of faith, gather together, and bear much fruit.

Thank you for your many prayers that we needed for this week’s ministry. We were in the thick of it for sure. On the second evening we were praying over a lady that was demon possessed. After about 10 minutes, she jumped up, grabbed me, looked right in my eyes and told me to go to hell in perfect English. So the battle rages on. We continued praying for her for another 10 minutes or so before she was released. This lady is a traditional Mtumbi person and does not know any English. This village is very very dark. Please pray for Light to come.

Pray for the Gospel to continue to spread throughout M-land and beyond to other tribes that the Name of Jesus would be glorified among the peoples of Tanzania.

Pray for the work amongst the M to continue to bear much fruit as believers are discipled and share their faith with others. Ask God to build His church among this people group.

Pray for believers to mature in their faith, walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, and share with others the good things God has done.

Please pray that those M believers who have received Jesus Christ by faith will walk in Him, being rooted and grounded in love, filled with all wisdom and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all might according to His glorious power, full of faithfulness and perseverance.

Please pray that the M believers will continue spreading the Word of God. Pray for protection from the evil one, from divisions and factions, from doctrinal deviations. Pray that as they share the gospel many others will believe.

Praise the Lord for the M who have come to faith in Christ and been baptized. Continue to pray that the Lord will bring a movement of M people who are disciples of Jesus, and that each one will share in Jesus’ commission to make disciples to the ends of the earth.

Pray that the M believers will abound in love more and more with real knowledge and discernment, to approve what is excellent and be sincere and without offense till the Day of Christ. Pray that the Holy Spirit will purify and refine them, that the testing of their faith will strengthen, establish and perfect them.

Please pray for the “M” disciple makers and group leaders. Pray they will continue to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Pray they would continue to grow in their relationship with Christ, in the knowledge of His Word, and be bold witnesses to the lost around them.

Please pray that the M who are sitting in darkness will see a great light, on those in the shadow of death a light will dawn, the light of Jesus Christ. Pray that in small villages where Jesus has never been heard of, in these days the gospel will be coming. May the Lord bless the feet of those who announce glad tidings of good things.

Praise the Lord for many M who have decided to follow Jesus in the last six years. Pray that as they study the Scriptures, some of them will desire to receive further training in the Bible, so as to teach it and explain it accurately. Pray that whole families will give public testimony to their faith in Christ in such a way that many others follow their example.

“Aug” and two of the Catalyst Team leaders will be facilitating a discipleship training this week in another “M” village. This will be the first time for these local Catalyst leaders to lead a training. Several of the new discipleship groups that have been meeting in other villages will be coming. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to fall upon this group and raise up more “M” workers to reach the “M” people this generation.

Pray for the M people who know Jesus Christ as their Savior to be growing in their knowledge of God’s Word as they meet together. May they love and care for one another. May they share the gospel widely with their friends and families and neighbors. May the Lord raise up many disciples among the M people!

Pray that the M believers will continue to study the Word of God. Pray that the groups of believers will multiply. Pray that many who used to follow Islam will soon follow Jesus.

We have been able to add three more developing leaders to The Catalyst team. The Catalyst team now has leaders from the N, S, E, W, and Central areas within this people group. Also there has been at least two new groups started in the last two months through some of these leaders training others, resulting in new generations. Each of these new groups are in a village where there was no group meeting before. The people in these discipleship groups are meeting regularly to study God’s word and as a result are coming to Christ out of I$lam. Praise Jesus!

Please pray for Christ to be formed in these new believers and they would be envisioned and empowered to bring the gospel to the rest of their people, in this generation. Pray that as a result, whole communities would be transformed through their witness and the power of the Gospel.

Pray for God to reveal Himself to many M people during this season of fasting, drawing more out of darkness and into the light and life of Jesus. Pray that in the midst of the fear and unknowns that the Covid19 pandemic is bringing, that God would be using the local believers to share the message of hope to desperate people.

A man from a nearby village joined us for worship this week and came saying he was ready to receive Christ! Pray for a firm foundation for his new faith and that his wife and children would receive salvation as well!

Please be praying for “A” as he goes with Sadi from the Catalyst team to assess two more discipleship groups today and tomorrow. We want to see and better understand what the Lord is doing among the M! We have assessed 4 groups so far and have 5 more to go. Over the last two months we have had to postpone the assessment many times due to unusual frequent rain.
Please also pray for wisdom as we seek to add a few more key people to the Catalyst team to train up as movement catalyzers in other key areas. This will be a huge step towards seeing Gospel impact throughout this people group and beyond. Thank you!
