Update on The Sakalava of Madagascar
Rosina writes,”The church service in Sakalava that started a couple of months ago, will continue after the team has left…with the first 4 Sakalava believers and friends in the area. We had a meal together last Sunday after the service, and we were joined by the local village people. Pray that more local people will join us on the path of Jesus.”
Update on The O of East Africa
P-y for a neighbor man (we’ll call him Mohammed), who was struggling with pain and weaknesses for 2 years. In May he proclaimed, “If Jesus heals me, I will follow Him!” He’s been miraculously healed by Jesus! He’s been struggling with what to do ever since, because his brothers and community don’t want him to follow Jesus. P-y he and his whole family will be willing to study God’s Word and will come together to follow Jesus! Last week we had been going to go on an evening visit to his home – but one of his wives got sick so it got postponed (seems it frequently gets postponed!) ***P-y against all the schemes of the rulers and authorities and powers of this dark world – that this whole extended family will be willing to listen, and that the H.Sp will convict their hearts and draw them!
Update on The Ndengereko of Tanzania
Rejoice that there are 3 local churches engaging the Ndengereko in one village. Pray for their market evangelism campaigns, that they would glorify God and draw the seekers to them. Pray for unity in the churches. One church in particular is struggling with internal conflicts that have the potential to divide the church.
Update on The Islanders of the Indian Ocean
Here on the island the ‘Big Wedding’ season is coming to an end. For the past month or so islanders have lived and breathed weddings. These weddings are long, lavish events that consist of conspicuous displays of wealth and are the primary way to achieve status in island society. Pray that as island life returns back to normal many would recognise an emptiness in their hearts that has not been filled by all the festivities. Pray that many would recognise and repent of the envy in their hearts towards those higher up the status ladder. Pray that God would show them the path to lasting joy and a lasting position of honour.
Update on The Mwani of Mozambique
We continue to see God work within our village. Several have turned their hearts to our Messiah and we witnessed the baptism of one of these new believers. Our desire is to see them come together to worship, pray, and learn God’s Words. Pray for this to happen.
Update on The Ndengereko of Tanzania
Would you pray Psalm 67 with us over the Ndengereko… (words changed for prayer)
May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among the Ndengereko. Let the Ndengereko praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! Let the Ndengereko be glad and sing for joy, for you judge the Ndengereko with equity and guide the nations upon earth. Let the Ndengereko praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you! The earth has yielded its increase; God, our God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; let all the ends of the earth fear him!

Please pray that those who have not only heard but received Christ as their savior would be burdened to take this precious gospel message to those who have never had the joy of hearing about Jesus.
Update on The Toposa of South Sudan
During the summer months of both Europe and the United States, teams of people make themselves available to assist the missionaries on the ground with whatever is needed. This has been such a blessing to so many missionaries, but what a blessing and encouragement it is to the South Sudanese people who receive them. Praise God for the teams who have visited and helped the Toposa this summer. Pray that seeds that were planted would take root and grow in the hearts of those the seeds have been planted. Thank God for these teams and may many more come to this harvest field.
Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan
Coming to the close of the rainy season can bring a final spurt of heavy rain, but on the whole it means that the roads in and out of the area are drier and more accessible. Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose. His soul shall abide in well-being, and his offspring shall inherit the land. The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.” Please pray these verses for the Rangi and ask that the Lord would humble their hearts and would speak to those who truly fear him.
Update on The Aringa of Uganda
One young lady whom the Lord has provided funds to go for studies in secondary declared her Christianity in January 2015 and she was beaten, denied food and clothes. She was known to the Church teacher and reported to him. The Church teacher shared with Pastor Jacob from Reach Africa’s Unreached ministry leader, these leaders prayed for God’s intervention and visited the family. The mother surrendered her to the Church teacher and Jacob. Pray that she grows in her faith as she continues to study.
Update on The Karimojong of Uganda
A few Saturdays ago was Karamoja Cultural Day (the second annual one) and it was centered here in Moroto, where a shrine was built and a bull sacrificed with all the horror of the animistic ceremony imaginable, to the delight of onlookers. This had not been planned by the committee nor approved by the mayor we are told. My heart was so grieved by all the spectators photographing this destructive embrace. The elders constructed it on grounds between two christian churchs. I did write about this in July.
The Bishop of the Church we attend, this last Sunday, August 9th, spoke about the spiritual warfare this act brought with the enemy basically setting up camp between the churches. He did a very good job on explaining what idolatry was and sacrificing to demons with scriptures in 1 Cor. 10:1-22 and Psalms 106:34-43. He was able to draw very relevant parallels between Israel not destroying the worship of idols and God allowing their choices to destroy them as well to the Kjong doing the same thing.
August 17-21, a convocation between all the churches in Karamoja is taking place here in Moroto, to stand for unity in Christ, and the Bishop feels that this act by the traditional elders happened as a battle cry in the spiritual realm against this convocation.
In less than 2-3 hours after his sermons, 3 services, the bishop had begun being verbally assaulted from so many people-including those saying they are christians but see nothing wrong with the shrines.
Please, Please, join in this heavenly battle for this land!!
Update on The Ik/Teus of South Sudan and Uganda
The decision has been made that the Ik will be granted their own county very soon. They’ve been under a Karamojong county and leadership for many years and have been marginalized because they are not the same people group as the KJ. But being given their own county means that they’ll be given a seat in Parliament. The Ik will finally have their own Ik MP who can represent them to the country-at-large. Please pray for the individual elected to the position of Ik MP. Pray that they would have integrity and honor, pursuing truth and not falling prey to corruption. Pray that they would represent their people well.
Update on The Karimojong of Uganda
https://www.facebook.com/DailyMonitor/posts/10153031704597197 This is a link about a young girl beaten severely for refusing to marry a 78 year old man. Please pray for the mindset of these people to change. The man interviewed is in Moroto district and his excuse for this is poverty. But Rupa is the worst subdistrict for alcoholism and none working adults, so the poverty is in their mindset which plays out into life.

Update on The Mwani of Mozambique
These past 3 weeks we have witnessed amazing things. Four families and four individuals committing to follow our Messiah. We hear the Lord saying, “The harvest has arrived. It is now. Expect and see!” We are awestruck and amazed. This can be nothing short of a movement of God and we have been blessed with the privilege to reap. Pray for obedient followers who will fish for men. This is our desire, to instill this DNA into them. We want disciples who will be fishers of men. Not just that, but to be teachers of things they have learnt from us so that the movement will continue with them.
Update on The Rangi of Tanzania
Please pray for three Rangi shop owners who have recently begun to be engaged by workers in their area. As is typical, one is mostly argumentative and is fierce in defending the things he has been taught, without giving much more examination to them. The other two are more open! Please pray for them to be really hearing and thinking. Also, please pray for the possibility of hosting a seminar on Islam and Chrstianity in Rangi land- there is a Christian expert that may be willing to come and give the seminar!
Update on The Karimojong of Uganda
Last Saturday, July 18th, was Karamoja Cultural Day and it was centered here in Moroto. This was the 2nd annual celebration of the Karimojong culture. This year it was organized for a shrine to be built on the parade grounds and a bull was sacrificed by the elders with all the horror of the animistic ceremony imaginable, to the delight of onlookers. In addition, a group from the clan of Moroto district, orchastrated the ritual of kidnapping a girl, and forcing her to marry one of their members, complete with blood drinking and the worship that goes with forcing her into a new family. The Karimojong people so need the move of the Holy Spirit in their lives. My heart was so grieved by all the spectators, many from other parts of Uganda, photographing the event as though it was entertainment. The Karimojong seem not to grasp that these rituals only affirm the subhuman association the rest of Uganda has of them. Please pray that this darkness that is destroy the souls of many Karimojong would flee from the light of Christ. That the few true Christ followers among the Karimojong would rise up and truly beat with Christ’s heart for their fellow tribesmen.
Update on The Karimojong of Uganda

Update on The Lopit of South Sudan

Update on The Kacipo of South Sudan
South Sudan has just had its 4th birthday as a new country. This came not with celebrations as many had hoped, but with hunger, conflict and fighting, cholera etc. the Kachipo are not directly involved in the fighting, but they suffer the consequences, as does the whole of the country. Please pray for peace! Please pray that the message of salvation through the

Christians in East Africa have suffered at the hands of Mu$lim extremists. Pray God would give them grace to pray, “Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:29-30)

Closely related to the Mwani are the islanders of the Indian Ocean. Lift up the Mahorais people (Shimaore and Shibushi) who mostly just fast to fit in with everyone else. Pray that God would break into their apathy, their thoughts, and their dreams and reveal the Way, the Truth and the Life found in Jesus. Job 33:14-18, John 14:6
Pray for the bi-weekly outreach meetings being held to be protected during Ramadan and that those who attend would resist pressure from family and the community to stop attending.
