Soccer

Diaspora in Oregon: Soccer season starts soon.  Pray for deepening relationships with the boys on my team and opportunities to share outside of soccer.

New sister!

Diaspora in Washington DC: Praise God for a NEW SISTER in CHRIST!  She’s so eager to read and understand God’s word and we praise God for her eager heart.  May He continue to feed her hunger for Him and continue to grow her heart.  Today we heard a brother from her country share in an Al Massira episode.  She was so overjoyed to realize there really are other believers from her country and she isn’t alone.

Needing follow-up

Pray for follow-up from the medical outreach that happened at the end of June. At the beginning of July, the local body divided up the villages where the medical team was and said they would follow-up with islanders who were interested in hearing more. It sounds like no follow-up has been done yet. Pray for wisdom in how to help this happen. Pray for those who were interested to keep seeking Truth and may the Holy Spirit continue to draw them to Jesus.

Outreaches

Diaspora in Germany: We praise the Lord for the camp gathering of 30 people from three different cities with brother Mo. We are thankful that two people were baptized and that two outreach programs took place.

Pray for the planning of our collaboration program, as we are considering having one outreach together with our ministry, All Nations, and Mo’s ministry in September.

Pray for us as we prepare to do an outreach here.

Growth and provision

Pray for the body of believers – for spiritual growth and a heart to share the gospel.

Pray for families that are struggling economically – that the Lord will open doors for them for good jobs.

International welcome meal

Diaspora in France: Pray for two Hindu students that they continue to come to our house church and to understand and accept the Gospel.

Pray for a large welcome meal for international students that we are organizing on September 27. Pray that God will bring many students, that many volunteers will be able to help, and that God’s presence will be felt by everyone.

Engage God’s Word

Pray that our students’ hearts and minds will be open as they engage with God’s Word.

Men gathering

We are thankful that a new men’s gathering has started in the capital. Pray that these new gatherings would be the beginning of real fellowship, trust, and unity among the island brothers. Pray for this study of repentance to bring about true and deep repentance in our hearts and that Spirit- led repentance would break forth among us. Pray that this might also inspire men to be more bold in their sharing and equipped for sharing with others the things they are learning. Pray for those who didn’t come this past month to come this month, and for the others to return. Pray for the opportunity to invite others into this men’s fellowship.

O God have mercy!

Pray for Sharon, a local sister, who is under threats of going to prison because of her faith. Pray for courage and wisdom and mercy.

Pray for Cush, a local brother who has strayed away from the faith. He is currently threatening to expose the workers and our local brethren to the authorities. Pray that God will silence his voice, the he will repent from this evil and turn back to God, and that God uses all this for His glory.

Moved back home

Diaspora in California: Pray for Sam (from India) who is a struggling young believer. He moved back home to live with his Hindu family but God has opened ways for him to attend church and to share God’s word with his family. Pray for his family to become followers of Jesus!

A former Sheikh

A former Sheikh has become a believer! He is well known. Pray for protection over his life, for a new home with good and loving friends, for discipleship and for God to guard his heart. We pray that this victory will draw more of his former friends and associates to God’s Kingdom.

Youth camps (Dec)

Pray for divine wisdom and guidance as we prepare for December youth camps. Pray that there will be no barriers to hinder young people from M community to attend the camp. Pray that campers will encounter Christ.

Classes starting

Diaspora in Wales: Pray for the restart of Women’s English and Sewing classes the week of Sept 15th and that God will bring us women who are spiritually open.

Meeting

Pray for the local body. There is a small group that has been meeting every Sunday at Rachel’s, our island sister, for the last several weeks. There are 3 regulars and a few that come every now and then. Pray the Lord would meet with them and encourage them. Pray for wisdom from the Spirit about how we can best encourage and exhort them.

Cries at night

Diaspora in England: Pray for a Smli woman from our English class who says that she cries at night because she’s scared of going to hell and she has no way of knowing where she’s going after she dies.  She’s heard how different this is for Christians and how we have assurance of salvation.  May she reflect more on this difference and be curious to find out more, and decide to put her trust in Jesus.

Dry Season Hunger and Ingenuity

Pray for those hungry during the final weeks of dry season before the rains begin again in October. The Nyamwezi are adept at surviving through this period, harvesting honey, termites, and relying on reserves of dried mushrooms and smoked cow pea leaves they’ll rehydrate for sauces with stiff corn porridge. But some families run out of their precious reserves. The men will leave in search of day labor so they may purchase what is needed. Church attendance wanes as physical needs rise. Pray for God to bring abundant harvests and protection from pests as they turn their hearts to God, placing their faith daily in Him alone to provide abundantly. May churches even at this time of scarcity be filled with those who worship the One who will provide and carry them through.

Married other woman

Please continue to pray for Hemi. He ended up marrying the other woman and divorced his first wife in order to please his family. He is still coming to the Bible studies. Please pray that the Father would draw him to Himself and he would fully surrender his life to Christ.

Interest

Would you please pray for N, a new disciple who has expressed a lot of interest in studying together and really understanding who Jesus is.

And please pray that God would lead us to a new skilled translator to replace the one we lost.

Pray for good soil

Keep praying for hunger and thirst for righteousness and truth for the young believers in our area – sometimes the soils seem very rocky! Keep praying for good soil and lasting fruit!

3 new churches!

One of our local partner churches, under the leadership of Pr. Tomoeira, works with us in the Mandehana Program (means: GO) and Evangelism Program and the fruit is great. Three churches were born the last few months and more than 200 Bara gave their lives to JESUS! Pray that the Holy Spirit will “keep them firm, established, and strengthened in the faith,” and the One who calls will complete the work in them. Pray for a revival among the BARA.

Watched the film

Praise for the Saharawi boy who has watched the Jesus film in his heart language and watched many animated episodes of Biblical stories from Genesis to Revelation. He has been challenged to ask Jesus directly who He really is. Pray that he does this, has an encounter with Jesus, and becomes a follower!

Light bearers

A growing number of Sudanese believing families have moved into North African countries that have very little light. Pray that God would strengthen them to be a mighty witness.

Youth programs

We are preparing for our Annual Youth camp in December. Pray for the final preparations of the content, pray for provision towards the budget, pray that the Lord will prepare the hearts of the youth we are focusing on.

Pray for transformation of the hearts of our youth as we continue with our other programs.

Many Somalis coming to faith!

One of our friends, a S* MBB lady, is overwhelmed by the number of new believers who are being referred to her. This is great news, and we thank God! Pray that we will be able to get our contacts together to help in discipleship and building good friendships with the new believers. Pray for these new believers to walk in the Light together and encourage one another.

Clinic Outreach

Pray for Malumba Clinic sitting right on the crossroads of new highways and byways connecting several villages without local healthcare. Pray for a Tanzanian women’s ministry team which has taken on developing the clinic as an outreach ministry. Pray for momentum, participation, planning, and for financing. Pray for the clinicians as they serve and share Christ through word and deed and for the patients to receive healing in body and soul.

Requests

Several churches are trusting God for drums and other musical instruments to enhance their worship times. Pray for provision.
They also asked for prayers for an improvement in healthcare as most times people have to go up to Ethiopia for treatment due to lack of facilities in their region.
The cry for water is still a general request in the region and so they also trust that they can get a  water supply to their region.

Strategic Prayer

Pray that the spirit of God may hover over Digo land to break the strongholds and release the Digo from bondage of sin and falsehoods to find freedom in Christ!

Going down wrong road

Pray for one of the teenage boys who is a daily visitor at the missionaries’ home. No father, absent mother, from a poor family, and pretty much left to fend for himself. He’s been skipping school and hanging out with some other teens who are going down the wrong road. Pray that the love of Christ would penetrate his heart and mind.

Young Believer

Please pray for a young believer, ‘Monty’, who has recently moved to our city. He is isolated from fellowship and works long hours every day in a phone repair shop. He has boldly shared his faith with his family who don’t understand but at least are not hostile towards him. Pray that his mother, father and sister will come to know the Saviour through Monty’s witness. We long for whole families to come to believe together.

Healing and abiding

Praise the Father for a new brother down south. He has many medical issues which makes connecting challenging at times. Ask that he would be reading the Word daily, would be healed from his illnesses and prioritize meeting with believers.

Sowing seeds

Pray for the work of Pastor Soja and Pastor Tafita, two partners who are sowing seeds among the Antandroy. This people group has a really hard heart and are deeply bound to witchcraft. We pray that all the villages that have already watched the Jesus Film and been exposed to the preaching of the Gospel that follows Jesus film presentation, will have their hearts enlightened by the Spirit of God and repent, and come to Jesus Christ.

Pray for the Bible translation among the Antandroy. They only have a few portions of the Scripture in their language.

Boldness and courage

Pray for boldness and courage for the local brothers and sisters to actively share their faith with their close contacts. And ask for fruitfulness in the efforts of those that are already doing so.

New songs

Music is an important part of worship for most if not all of us. Praise God for the new songs that are being written by local believers on the islands. Pray for wisdom how to produce good-quality recordings of these songs so that they can be widely shared. Pray that they would be used in outreach and to teach and encourage believers.

Pray for Fall activities

Diaspora in Georgia: Pray that the Lord will bring many Africans and Muslims to our ESL classes that begin in September, and that they will stay all year and learn about Jesus.

Pray for the salvation of my neighbors and their families from Pakistan, India, South Korea, Bermuda and UK.  Pray for many interactions and visits with these families in their homes and mine this Fall.

Right students

Ask the Lord to bring the right students for the new school year who are open and spiritually curious.

Pray for former students—that the Holy Spirit would stir in their hearts, reminding them of the truth they’ve studied. Ask for visions and dreams that would draw them to Christ.
Pray for three students to continue studying the Word of God with us outside of class.

Showing interest

Diaspora in Ontario: During street evangelism, I gave a new testament to a Bangladeshi Muslim named Af. A month after he received it, he is now showing interest in learning more about the Bible and maybe doing the Christianity Explored class. Pray for the Spirit to lead him to repentance and salvation.

Four ‘I’ Villages

Please pray for a good harvest during local outreaches at Isikizya, Inlala, Itulu, and Ipulu villages. Praise God for the Jesus Film team gaining permissions from village leaders to show the Jesus Film at these locations, and for ministry teams which have visited villagers house to house, followed by Bible teaching for three days. Pray for new believers to be enfolded into the family of God in each of these locations and for fellowship to be sweet. May God’s love be evident through their caring for one another.

Translation work

Pray for the local Malagasy team who are translating orally the “Global Gospel”. It’s a series of 102 short videos that tells the Gospel, from Genesis to Revelation. Here is the address: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEJ0Nlz0IsY.

Our commitment is to finish it by the end of 2025. Our Team, Pr. Erick, Mamitina and Mariette, has already translated 20 videos/stories. Our goal is to share via social media.

Pray for the Bible translation process among the Bara that has stalled. They have translated many stories, and some books of the Bible – but have not yet finished. Please pray for those involved or for a new team, to carry on the task so their people will receive the most precious treasure they can get: The Word of God.

Youth

Please continue to pray for the youth, that the Lord would raise up a new generation of Christian leaders amongst the Ndau!

Discipleship Training

We’re planning to have the second discipleship training for this year in September. It is aimed at bringing all disciples in Toposa/Nyang’atom/Jiye for an intensive training which helps them build their skills spiritually, physically and mentally. Pray for God’s provision during that time, wisdom and obedience to Jesus’ commands to His disciples, and to see God raise a Discipleship Making Movement that will extend His word beyond borders.
Pray that as we sit for a pre-meeting with the key leaders, God will direct all decisions and prepare us for what He has for us during this period of training. May each one go back spiritually mature, able to build up their disciples with the word of God.
