May they believe

There’s a couple of seeker groups meeting regularly to discuss the story of our book. Ask for open hearts and curious minds. May the Lord turn on the light of the knowledge of the Glory of God in the face of Jesus so that they may believe.

New faith

Pray for the village of Tingwa among the Okiek (Dorobo) to grow in their new faith in Christ. Pray that they will have strength to witness to the other Okiek in their area so the church can grow.

More dire every day

The situation in Sudan is becoming more dire every day. Many people have lost their lives and properties. The Darfur Christian Association (DCA) team is helping communities of people find places to stay, distributing relief and connecting civilians who are newly arrived Jebel Marra, especially those that don’t have any family members or fellow tribe members. The DCA team is also offering medical and dental care, as well as sharing the gospel of salvation, preaching the greatest hope in Christ, and offering discipleship training to groups and individuals. DCS is seeking more financial support to continue offering medical care and provide medicine.
Pray for peace in Sudan.
Pray God may provide for the needs of believers and provide healing from trauma.
Pray for the global body of Christ to continue praying and generously supporting believers.
Pray for the DCA team in Jebel Marra to continue helping the communities who have fled the cities.
Pray for funds for medicines.

Kairos course

We have finished running the Kairos course in Moroto. This is a course that shares God’s heart for the nations and how his people have the privilege of participating in what he is doing in the world. We had 14 participants and it went very well. Please pray for all who participated – that our hearts will continue to be impacted by what we heard, our minds stretched and our desire to share God’s Good News fueled by all we are heard and discussed.

John’s update

I am very sick now, and I need prayers.
We are trying to record the book of Mark and then get 1 and 2 Timothy drafted. Please pray for us.

Elections Nov 16th

Please pray for the Karana in Madagascar especially in Majunga because they are very worried about the political situation in Madagascar with recent elections, some of them have already left Majunga knowing that they are always the first victims when something happens. Ask the Lord to protect them and open their hearts to the gospel.
Please pray also for more workers who are willing to share their faith in Christ with the Karana.

Harvest

Diaspora in Wales: Pray for a spiritual harvest among our students as we restart the women’s conversation class.

More than ever

Our team has had more chances than ever to invite people to read and study the Word with us. Please pray that those who hear will be open to what they hear and that the Lord will speak to them.

Lokai

Pray for a young believer named Lokai. He is away at boarding school but came to visit for a few days and shared his faith boldly with his village and encouraged other believers to not be ashamed of the gospel.
Pray he will continue to grow in faith and walk with Jesus at boarding school.

Love of Christ

Diaspora in Michigan: Praise God for 10 newly arrived immigrant families in Sep. and Oct. we are working with to help them settle. Pray God would strengthen the relationships between these families and the US families helping them. May they see the love of Christ.

Good conversations

The team shared the Truth with 5 people at the Guni hospital: Ma’ad, Ibra’im, Abu’aker, Sal’mon, and As’ta. They had good communication while sharing. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will lead them into a deep understanding and faith.

Outreach

Diaspora in Germany: Praise God for the outreach we have done in Bayern, reaching out to many Muslims. Praise for the three Syrian families the Injil team met who invited them to come and have lunch and hear about the Lord. Pray for follow up and for the Holy Spirit to draw them to Jesus.
Pray for S family (mother and three kids) who have heard the gospel and are open to hear more.

San moving forward

Through an intense push by the Dutch Reformed Church, many Ju//aonsi pastors and elders are getting trained and supported to reach the extensive network of remote villages in north eastern Namibia.
Also the Kwhe and !Kung have seen a growth in the church recently. Please keep praying for these small (<50,000) people clusters, spread out over large expanses, to become rooted in Scripture and intentionally sharing their faith.

Struggling

Our local church boasts two truly local believers – that is, men who were born in our village and have stepped out of Islam to follow Jesus. One of these believers has been struggling in his commitment to his faith and the church, and it has been a difficult journey. Please pray that he may come to really know the worthiness of Christ, and pray for our team as we seek to disciple and encourage him.

Start a group

Diaspora in Finland: Praise for the connection with Muslims from 4-5 different countries. Pray that our relationships with these people will grow. Pray they would be willing to study the Bible together.

Youth Camp

Pray for an upcoming youth camp to be held in December. We are expecting around 200 youth. Most of them will be seekers. Pray that their eyes will be opened and see the Light and be transformed by the gospel. Pray for provision for the camp and all the preparation.

Seeking Jesus

Diaspora in France: Continue praying for Carla as she seeks Jesus so intently.
Pray for our Turkish friends that we shared the Gospel with, that these seeds would bear fruit and that Jesus would reveal Himself to them.

Find Jesus

Ask for repentant humble hearts that feel the weight of sin and long for grace and the yoke of Jesus. May they have visions and find websites and meet believers who reveal Jesus clearly and truthfully.

Celebrations

Diaspora in California: Pray for the International Student ministry this month. The majority of the students are from India and will be celebrating their Festival of Lights, Diwali, November 12th. May they come to know Jesus, The Light of the World.
My church is hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner for International students November 18th. We are praying for 50 students to come. May they hear and understand why we, as Christians, are thankful and who we give our thanks to.

Faith to grow

Pray for Mrs F’s faith to grow and for her family to come to the Lord. Pray for the Lord to bless their business.

Planning

Pray for a meeting this week to plan another large group gathering. Pray that the different representatives would be available and that there would be great unity between everyone and that these big gatherings would be a blessing to the body on i3. May the body grow in depth, breadth and unity for the glory of Jesus.

Weekend outreach

Last weekend we did a three-day outreach in an outer lying village in our region, including worship times, open air preaching, home visits and showings of the Jesus Film in Swahili. We are excited by the response, and are hoping to see a weekly gathering of the local believers take place in the weeks and months to come. Please pray for this young group of believers, as well as others who heard the Word this weekend. May the seeds take root and bear fruit in good soil.

No longer king

Praise God the king is going to church with his family and growing in his faith. He is no longer king because of his faith, but he is happy he has eternal life!

Make connections

Diaspora in Canada: Pray as I make connections with some of our older campers who have technically “aged out” of camp. We want to encourage and mentor these youth and continue to be a witness and source of support. Pray that we have a good turn out for our camp follow up event, Club Soar, planned for November.

Big step!

Pray for Mama Fae up on the plateau. Last week her application from our study was ‘to believe and follow Jesus to get eternal life’! Whilst we don’t know what she now thinks about her old book and old prophet, she has made big steps towards Jesus. Please ask for her heart to be fully His, and for her family to follow too.

Gospel-clarifying conversation

Diaspora in Michigan: Praise God Cali went to church with me twice and we had a good Gospel-clarifying conversation. Pray God would work through the barriers in her heart to reveal Himself to her and her need for Him.

Ruth and Faith

Pray for Ruth, who is still keen to read the Word and wants to follow the Savior, and pray for Faith, who wants to follow too but isn’t as keen but is doing language with Anna and is getting some Bible that way.

Open hearts

Diaspora in Florida: Pray for my meetings with a local imam and with a young Muslim man this week. and for Linda’s meetings with Muslim ladies in the pipeline. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open their hearts to hearing gospel truth.

Making connections

One of the team members studies with a family each Sunday. They are growing in their ability to make connections between different stories in the Word. However, recently their landlord told them they need to get out because of their faith or pay more for their rent – more money than they can easily pay. Please pray for a change of heart on the landlord’s part.

Struggling

Diaspora in Canada: Pray for the many colleagues I work alongside with who are really suffering and struggling with the conflict in the middle east, many who are Muslim, specifically S. and A. Pray that I could be salt and light in the interactions I have with them and that the Prince of Peace would reveal Himself to them.

Know Jesus more

Please pray for the Digo children who came weekly to our Sunday school programs, that they would continue to seek to hear the Bible and want to know Jesus more.

Pray for understanding

Diaspora in France: Amanda appreciates very much the Scripture portions we are able to share with her in her own language. Ask for good understanding and a desire to know more. Continue to pray for her son, Billy, who is currently in prison. Pray he ponders the Truth he has heard and submits to the Lord.

The whole village came!

One night we went to this village called “Apitoara”,  to broadcast the Jesus Film. When we arrived, we saw that the whole village was doing the “BILO” ceremony. The Bilo is a ritual that happens when someone is possessed by demons. They call the witch doctors and sacrifice cows to the ancestors and demons, asking for deliverance. The ritual involves alcohol and dancing. The blood of the cows is sprinkled over the people, as a “covering” to pacify the demons. The music was loud and people going up and down the road crazily.
I thought with myself: No Film today. But, we set up anyway.  We started projecting some songs (videoclips) until the time we had set for the film. Unexpectedly, people started appearing, and the place started to fill up. By the time we started the film, the place was completely full! The ceremony of the BILO had finished, and almost the whole village came to watch the movie. I was amazed! The BILO is an important thing to the BARA and usually lasts the whole night. However, people left the ceremony to come and watch the film. What an amazing GOD. One of the pastors preached 10 minutes about our hope in Christ. I gave my testimony and we let the JESUS FILM  do its work.
In my spirit, the Spirit of God said: Do you understand this? People are thirsty for something new! YES! For the GOOD News!

Gospel spreading

May the Lord‘s message ring out through all of our AIC team and BMB‘s in O-land! May the Gospel come not simply with words, but also with Power, with the Holy Spirit, and with Deep Conviction! May many O people welcome the message with the joy given by the Holy Spirit. (from 1 Thes. 1:4-8)

Hunger overcome fear

Praise Jesus for increased courage in the hearts of believers. Pray for those who have been asking of Jesus but are now afraid to keep searching because of the arrests. May their hunger overcome their fear.

Bugs

SIL (Wycliffe) Global Publishing, in their final checks before sending the Laarim Scriptures to Korea for printing, found “bugs” in the final pdf produced by the typesetting program. The typesetting needs to be redone! Pray for patience and perseverance, and even excitement, as they come closer to finalizing these Scriptures. Pray for the Lord to prepare fertile soil in the hearts of the Laarim so that when the Scriptures come “they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and [God] would heal them” (Matthew 13:15).

Burdened and bold

Pray for spiritual dissatisfaction to grow among Karana people.
And pray for the heart of local church members to be awakened and burdened for the Karana. Pray for those who have been trained in outreach to be bold and engage with their Karana neighbors.

Spiritual conversations

Praise God for the time we are spending at the refugee camps and for the spiritual conversations we are having. Pray for the Spirit to open many hearts to hearing and believing the gospel.

Helping people

Praise God Sambivelo has finished his medic training and is back and has helped many sick people already. He struggles with jealous people, including one doctor. This doctor isn’t fair in his practice. He asks a high price for his service. But he is the only one in the whole area so people are afraid to say anything about it. Sambivelo helps people for a symbolic price. Pray God would change the doctor’s heart and would bless Sambivelo.

Pray for healing

During one homestay, we ended up praying for a 5-year-old boy named Aboubacar. He has a sickness that seems very spiritually related. He doesn’t speak and can’t eat on his own, though he used to be able to. We prayed for him in the name of Jesus and told the family we would continue to pray, so please pray that the Lord would heal Aboubacar and that the family would attribute the healing to the power of Jesus.
