Rendille of Kenya: Although some of the Rendille have settled in towns and villages around wells, many continue the traditional way of the nomad. Several friends returned from Bible school determined to share God’s Word with those among their own people who did not have access. Knowing that items delivered by vehicle were often viewed as foreign, they carried the newly translated Bibles on the back of a camel. Though many could not yet read, the nomads eagerly received them, recognizing that these books must be valuable. Praise God for these brothers who creatively and faithfully brought the treasure of Scripture to their people. Pray for the Rendille nomads to develop a deep hunger for God’s Word. Ask the Holy Spirit to open hearts, bring conviction of sin, and lead many to faith in Christ. Pray for the literacy programs equipping people to read and understand God’s Word in their own heart language. Pray that local believers would grow in spiritual maturity and be faithful witnesses among their own people.
