Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Please continue to pray for Sudan as drone attacks and ongoing fighting destroy hospitals, displace thousands, and take civilian lives. Many communities are living in constant fear, with access to healthcare becoming increasingly limited. Pray for protection over civilians, medical workers, and aid providers, and ask God to bring restraint and wisdom to those in positions of leadership. Pray that the Lord would intervene with justice and mercy, and that decisions made in this critical time would lead toward peace. Above all, ask that even in the midst of violence and loss, many would turn to the one true God and find hope that goes beyond present suffering.
Separation and Loss
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Communication has become increasingly difficult as people relocate frequently to avoid conflict zones. Some ministry leaders have gone days without hearing from close relatives, not knowing whether they are alive, hiding, or displaced. A training center that had recently been full of worship, teaching, and preparation for outreach now sits largely abandoned after students and staff fled during nearby fighting. Personal belongings, books, and supplies were left behind in haste. Pray for separated families to reconnect safely. Pray for courage and endurance among local pastors and ministry leaders carrying heavy emotional burdens. Pray for wisdom as leaders make difficult decisions with limited information. Ask for moments of quiet and safety where people can rest physically and spiritually. Lift up younger believers especially who are experiencing these intense trials that fear would not harden hearts or extinguish faith.
Safe Journey
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: With military escort assistance and despite several hours of delay due to a tire puncture, our team safely made the journey from the conflict zone to a safer area. Shortly after they arrived, they received news that another town had suffered a brutal attack, causing widespread panic and massive displacement. Reports indicate burned markets, destroyed property, and loss of life. Keep all those serving in the midst of this crisis in your prayers. One encouraging sign is the heartfelt appreciation many Muslim families are expressing toward the Christians providing practical help and compassionate care. Even amid instability, work continues through discipleship, relief efforts, agriculture-based livelihood recovery, and teacher training. Pray for strength, wisdom, protection, and endurance as our team and their partners serve hurting communities, encourage believers, and help families begin rebuilding their lives. Please ask the Lord to bring an end to this violence, that hearts would be turned to the Prince of Peace!
Intense Conflict
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: The conflict in the Nuba Mountains has intensified. Families in several mountain communities fled their homes after gunfire moved closer to civilian areas. Many spent the night outside, hiding in fields or among rocks with little food or water, unsure if it is safe to return. One local believer shared that children have begun crying whenever they hear distant vehicles because they associate the sound with incoming attacks. Parents are trying to comfort them while carrying their own fear and exhaustion. Pray for protection over families sheltering in remote areas tonight. Pray over local believers as they try to still gather to pray and encourage one another despite the danger. Pray for roads to reopen safely so trapped workers and families can move if necessary. Pray for Peace to overcome fear and violence throughout the region.
Prayer for relocation
Nuba Mountain Muslim UPGs: Please continue to carry the Nuba Mountains before the Lord. Over the past week, the situation in the Kauda, Heiban, and Otoro/Shuwaia regions has deteriorated rapidly. Escalating violence has directly impacted ministry teams, facilities, and the communities they serve, leaving many families displaced and living in uncertainty. Pray for an immediate de-escalation of the conflict and for peace to prevail. Pray for strength, wisdom, and discernment for local church and ministry leaders as they care for hurting communities under immense pressure. Ask the Lord to comfort those grieving loss, separation, fear, and instability. Please also pray that believers in the mountains would remain steadfast in faith and continue boldly testifying to the hope they have in Jesus, even in the midst of crisis. Pray especially for our workers preparing to travel tomorrow for temporary relocation because of the ongoing tribal conflict that has displaced thousands. They are trusting the Lord for protection and peace as they journey toward a more secure area, where they hope to spend two weeks participating in an agriculture and teacher-training program before departing the Nuba region later next month. Please pray for safety on the roads, wisdom in every decision, open paths for travel, and ultimately for an end to the violence that has torn so many lives apart.
Under the Mango Trees
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: In the Nuba Mountains, the Church often gathers beneath mango trees—not by choice. Conflict has damaged buildings and made large gatherings risky, and the threat of drones means worship must often take place away from visible structures. Yet on a recent Sunday, around two hundred believers met together in the shade to sing, pray, and hear the Word of God. This quiet act of worship reflects resilience, steadfast faith, and a determination not only to endure, but to continue obeying the Gospel even in the midst of hardship. There are many unreached peoples throughout the Nuba Mountains—pray that these faithful believers would be stirred to take up the Great Commission, going to those nearby who have never heard the Good News or had the opportunity to know the love of Jesus. Ask that God would use their courage and witness to draw many to Himself.
Pray for Culturally Relevant Gospel Resources
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for gospel materials in the S. language and Arabic dialects. Ask God to guide the development of oral storytelling, audio recordings, and culturally appropriate discipleship tools. Pray that these resources would clearly communicate the message of hope and reconciliation in Jesus. Ask that they would be widely shared and received across both the O and the S communities.
Pray for Openness to the Gospel
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Thank God for the reported openness among the S. people at this crucial time. Pray that spiritual barriers would be broken and hearts would be receptive to the message of Christ. Ask God to raise up local leaders who can disciple others in culturally relevant ways. Pray for a sustained movement of prayer and for faith communities to emerge.
Pray for Collaborative Agricultural Projects (ADAPT for Peace)
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for the expansion of agricultural initiatives that bring both S and O communities together. Ask God to bless collaborative farming, aquaculture, and development projects that encourage cooperation and mutual benefit. Pray that shared work would build trust and break down long-standing divisions. Ask that these platforms would naturally create opportunities for reconciliation and gospel witness.
Destroyed
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Urgent prayer needed for a situation where recent fighting has devastated ministry among the S people group. Over the past three years, there has been encouraging growth, with new believers, small gatherings forming, and practical developments such as farming, schooling, and micro-business initiatives taking root. Much of this was destroyed and burned during violence last month, leaving local partners displaced and communities scattered. Pray for protection, provision, and encouragement for these believers, and that despite the loss, their faith would remain strong and the gospel would continue to spread even in displacement and uncertainty.
Displaced Communities
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Despite the turmoil of conflict, gospel ministry continues through youth discipleship, radio outreach, Bible storytelling, and education. Displaced communities are being offered hope through Scripture, trauma-healing initiatives, and practical physical aid. Pray that these efforts bear lasting fruit and that many come to faith in Christ.
Pray for Trauma Healing and Hope
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for individuals and families carrying deep emotional and spiritual wounds from the violence. Ask God to open doors for Gospel work in trauma healing and counseling. Pray that people would find hope, peace, and healing through Christ in the midst of hardship. Ask that these healing efforts would lead to long-term relationships and spiritual transformation.
Harsh Conditions
Sudan: Thousands of displaced families are now living outdoors with little access to food, water, shelter, or healthcare. Many have fled multiple times, arriving with nothing and relying on leaves or minimal supplies just to survive. Pray for help to come. Ask that God would strengthen believers to love their neighbors and speak truth faithfully in challenging environments.
Pray for Peace and Reconciliation
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for the ongoing conflict between the S. and O. tribes in Sudan. Ask God to raise up impartial believing mediators who can help foster dialogue and reconciliation rooted in the Way of Jesus. Pray that mistrust, fear, and historical tensions over land and resources would be softened. Ask for pathways toward peaceful coexistence and lasting kingdom unity between these communities. May they come to know Jesus as the Peacemaker, the one who Reconciles.
Conflict Zones
Sudan: Continued drone attacks and fighting across Sudan have destroyed hospitals, displaced thousands, and taken many civilian lives. Communities near conflict zones are living in constant fear, and access to healthcare is becoming increasingly limited. Pray for protection for civilians, medical workers, and aid providers. Pray for restraint and wisdom among leaders. Above all, pray that even in the midst of violence, many would turn to the true God and find hope beyond the turmoil.
Pray for Humanitarian Access and Compassion
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Lift up those displaced and affected by this ongoing conflict, asking God to provide food, shelter, and medical care. Pray that workers would have safe access to serve both the S and the O tribes impartially and demonstrate Christ’s love through practical help. Ask that humanitarian aid would open doors for meaningful spiritual conversations. Pray that compassion would break down barriers and build trust among communities.
Vulnerable Young People
Sudan: Violence, economic collapse, and militia activity have forced many young people into cycles of conflict and survival-driven violence. Communities are strained, and young men in particular are vulnerable to recruitment into armed groups. Ask that many would encounter Christ and become peacemakers within their communities.
Heart Change
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for leaders and authorities. Ask that God would intervene and bring justice, wisdom, and restraint. Pray that decisions made now would open doors for peace and for the Gospel to spread freely. Pray for lasting transformation. Ask not just for peace—but for hearts to be changed by the Gospel. Pray for reconciliation, forgiveness, and new life in Christ across these communities. May revival rise out of this crisis.
Fleeing
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Civilians are in danger. Pray for God’s protection over families threatened by the violence around them. Many are fleeing and being evacuated. Ask that the Lord would make a way where there seems to be none—and reveal Himself as a refuge. Pray for safe passage and that God would guide every step. May many call on His name and be saved. Ask that even on the move, people would encounter Jesus in powerful ways. May displacement lead to divine encounters.
Urgent Prayer for Peace
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray urgently for peace in Shuwaia, Toror, and surrounding areas as violence escalates. Ask God to calm tensions, stop further bloodshed, and protect families forced to flee—providing safety, shelter, and hope. Pray that hearts would turn from revenge to forgiveness through Christ. Lift up aid workers and ministry partners for protection, strength, and boldness to share the Gospel—may many encounter Jesus through their peaceful presence in the midst of chaos.
Local Followers
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for believers in the Nuba Mountains to stand firm in faith despite hardship. Ask God to strengthen pastors and church leaders with courage and wisdom. Pray that the Church would serve as a source of practical help, encouragement, and unity. May Christ’s love be clearly visible in every village and community. Through their witness, pray that many neighbors would hear the good news and follow Jesus.
Seed Banks & Long-Term Hope
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for wisdom as leaders consider establishing community seed banks for future food security. Ask God to bless efforts to preserve indigenous crop varieties and strengthen resilience. Pray that practical planning today would prevent deeper crisis tomorrow. May communities unite around solutions that protect future generations. Alongside physical preservation, pray that eternal hope would spread and many would come to know Christ as Savior.
Displaced Peoples
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Lift up the millions displaced by conflict who have sought refuge in the Nuba Mountains. Pray for mothers caring for children under extreme hardship and for families separated by violence. Ask God to provide shelter, clean water, and medical care. May displaced communities experience compassion, dignity, and renewed strength through the efforts of Jesus-followers. Pray that through acts of love and witness, many displaced people would hear the gospel and believe in Jesus.
Rains and Farming
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray for favorable rains and restoration of the agricultural cycle. Ask God to protect crops from pests, disease, and destruction. Pray for strength and perseverance for farmers working under immense pressure. May the land yield abundant harvests that sustain the people. As seeds are planted in the soil, pray that seeds of the gospel would also take root in hearts, leading many to faith in Jesus.
Empowered with joy
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray that the Nuba church remembers the example of our Lord Jesus and willingly shares in His sufferings. May God strengthen the Nuba church to forgive those who have caused them harm and persecuted them. Pray they will be empowered with patience and joy to endure suffering and trials. Lord have mercy!
Restoration and Future Generations
Nuba Mtn Muslim UPGs: Pray that God would restore what has been lost through war and famine. Ask Him to heal trauma and rebuild families, farms, and communities. Pray for children growing up in crisis—that they would know safety, education, and opportunity. May the Nuba Mountains experience long-term renewal and lasting stability. Above all, pray that a new generation would grow up knowing Jesus and walking faithfully with Him.
Daily Bread
Muslim UPGS in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan: Intercede for those facing severe hunger and food shortages. Ask God to provide daily bread for families who have lost crops, livestock, and access to markets. Pray for emergency food supplies to reach remote communities quickly. May the Lord sustain the most vulnerable, especially children and the elderly. As physical needs are met, pray that hearts would be open to the hope of Christ and many would come to faith in Him.
Pray for provision
Pray for the love of Jesus to transform the hearts of those perpetrating violence and war, for miraculous provision of healthcare, food and water, and for protection and comfort for the masses of displaced Sudanese.
Nuba Mountain partnerships
We are at our GNAC conference in Yida, South Sudan. This year’s conference offers a unique opportunity to witness what God is doing through His Church in the Nuba Mountains and to foster deeper collaboration in both gospel action and proclamation. We are focused on seeing the transformation of the Nuba Mountains through the gospel, education, capacity building, and relief work. Mainly focused on reaching UPG’s.
Pray for local missionaries, laboring in hard places, to be refreshed and encouraged and to leave the gathering knowing that they are not alone. We have a lot of new partners this year, pray everyone leaves with a sense of how they fit into the overall vision and practical next steps.
On Saturday, a small group of us will travel up into the Nuba mountains visiting a Bible translation center, which is working on 30 unreached people group languages, and then on to Kauda to visit an agricultural project and a possible location for a leadership development course. Pray for God’s blessings on these projects.
Major accident!
Urgent: Please pray! We just heard that 27 students from the Heiben area of Nuba Mts on their way to take exams in another location (they have to travel far) were in a major accident and were injured. Please pray for help, healing, and ability to still make their exams.
Suffering in war
Since the start of the war in April 2023, tens of thousands have been killed and 12 million have fled their homes. Famine has been declared in parts of the country and a cholera epidemic has broken out. Pray for this terrible situation- that the leaders of the two factions would see the suffering of their people and lay down their weapons and seek peace. Pray people would cry out to God in their distress and God would intervene.
Cholera outbreak!
Reports are coming in about an outbreak of Cholera in the Nuba Mountains as well as other parts of Sudan. The war in Sudan is worsening the humanitarian crisis and contributing to the spread of cholera. Pray for people suffering medically, emotionally, and spiritually. Lord have mercy on the people of Sudan!
Keep Praying for MBBs
Please continue lifting up our Sudanese MBB brothers and sisters in prayer, especially those in the refugee camps and difficult regions we are engaging. Persecution is very real. One of our disciples was shot while reading his Bible. Two women were killed in the Nuba Mountains when it was discovered they were Christians. Most recently, in Juba, a believer was scalded with hot water after her faith was revealed. These dear ones are paying a high price for following Jesus. May we stand with them in prayer!.
Wisdom and discernment
Pray for wisdom and discernment for local leaders and community influencers to promote unity and peace rather than division.
Pray for healing and comfort for families affected by the recent violence and loss of loved ones in Medani and Juba.
Pray for law enforcement to effectively restore order without escalating violence, ensuring safety for all communities.
Divine intervention
Pray for guidance for religious leaders to speak messages of peace and reconciliation instead of inciting conflict.
Pray for solidarity among different ethnic and religious groups, fostering understanding and cooperation in these challenging times.
Pray for divine intervention to change hearts and minds, leading to a cessation of hostilities and a pathway to dialogue.
Pray for peace
There is rising tension in Dilling, Nuba Region due to SAF attacks, causing fear and instability, particularly with some Islamic leaders inciting conflict against SPLA and Christians in the Nuba Mountains. Pray for peace to be restored in Dilling and surrounding areas, calming tensions and preventing further violence. Ask for protection over innocent civilians in all affected regions, especially those targeted due to their ethnicity or beliefs.
Survey
We are starting this year with a survey into the fourteen communities in Shuwaia-land. We feel this will give us a better understanding of the entire region and to see what God is doing there.
So far we have been able to visit two of these communities. Thank God that we have been warmly welcomed. Pray for provision so we can visit the other communities.
Pray God will help us see what He wants us to see and to labour in love.
One of the communities we visited shared the need for a school to help their children.
Pray God will help us to see how we can respond to this need and for others to serve well for His name’s sake.
There seems to be an open door in the entire Shuwaia area now. Pray we all key in to what He is doing right now and join Him in building His church.
Prayer for Sudan
Father God, we cry out for peace in Sudan and an end to this conflict. May it not give extremists a renewed foothold in the country. Encourage believers at this time, particularly those who are despondent, weary and hurt. Pour fresh hope into their hearts. Be a place of refuge for Your children, meet their every need and strengthen their faith. During this time of uncertainty and unrest, help our brothers and sisters to be beacons of light that draw others to You. Amen. (Open Doors)
Sudan’s woes
On 28th October, the UN Secretary General listed Sudan’s woes: 25 million people needing aid, 750,000 starving, thousands of civilians killed (some, including 27th Oct en masse), unspeakable atrocities, widespread rape and sexual assaults, disease, a collapsed health system, 11 million people displaced. The SAF and the RSF forces are escalating military action, and outside powers are fueling the fire. He prioritised: ceasefires to allow peace negotiations, stronger measures to protect civilians (but “conditions do not exist” for deployment of a UN force); and uninterrupted humanitarian access (but only 56% of needed funds is in hand). Pray for God’s mercy on this suffering nation, for needed aid to get through, and an end of the war.
Kingdom of His dear Son
Pray for the projects we are involved in to help people suffering because of the war, discrimination, and poverty. Pray God would open many hearts to the gospel and deliver many from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son.
