Sudan’s woes

On 28th October, the UN Secretary General listed Sudan’s woes: 25 million people needing aid, 750,000 starving, thousands of civilians killed (some, including 27th Oct en masse), unspeakable atrocities, widespread rape and sexual assaults, disease, a collapsed health system, 11 million people displaced. The SAF and the RSF forces are escalating military action, and outside powers are fueling the fire. He prioritised: ceasefires to allow peace negotiations, stronger measures to protect civilians (but “conditions do not exist” for deployment of a UN force); and uninterrupted humanitarian access (but only 56% of needed funds is in hand). Pray for God’s mercy on this suffering nation, for needed aid to get through, and an end of the war.

Kingdom of His dear Son

Pray for the projects we are involved in to help people suffering because of the war, discrimination, and poverty. Pray God would open many hearts to the gospel and deliver many from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of His dear Son.

Sustainable agriculture training

Foundations for farming is a method of sustainable agriculture and a message of hope and restoration to a hurting people and land. Pray for the success and effectiveness of the training we are giving. Pray for favorable weather conditions and abundant harvests for the farmers involved. Pray for hope, healing, and restoration for those who have been displaced and are rebuilding their lives. Pray for God’s grace and mercy to be evident!

Missionary teachers sent

A select group of local educators underwent rigorous training in specialized missionary teaching techniques and were recently deployed to remote areas of Nuba Mountains, Sudan, to make a difference in the lives of children who have limited access to quality education.
Pray for the missionary teachers to make a positive impact and bring about transformation in the lives of the children they teach and the communities they serve. Ask for God’s wisdom to guide their educational initiatives, empower their students, and inspire lasting change for the better.

Being deployed

We aim to see a sustainable disciple-making movement among all the peoples and places of the Nuba Mountains. We want to recruit and train 150 Nuba Christians to be local missionaries at the National Missionary Training Center (NMTC).
We want to deploy these local missionaries to the remaining 52 UUPGs found in the Nuba Mountains to evangelize, make disciples and plant first-generation churches through DMM process.
Pray for the current cohort of 14 men and women being trained at the NTMC who will be deployed this month to 6 UUPGs in the Nuba Mountains. Pray for fruitful ministry and many people to accept Christ.

Young people

Pray for the Nuba young people to return to the church and follow our Lord Jesus Christ. Many of them have left the church for the pleasure of this world.

Pray for peace

Pray for restoration of peace in the nation of Sudan. Pray that God will bring peace and raise up a God-fearing leader capable to lead the nation of Sudan in Godly wisdom. So much blood is being shed in various parts of Sudan in a way that the world seems not to see- such horrific and barbaric human rights violations. God have mercy!

Outreach

Pray for our open air evangelism, prayer, and showing the Jesus Film in Uru area today. Pray God to be with us and for fertile ground that many will give their lives to Christ.

Teachers

Sister Theresa was able to mobilize the community to make 10,000 bricks for the school building. Seven teachers from Shuwaia just graduated from our Education Teach to Reach program April 19. Pray for the school building project and these newly trained teachers to be a blessing to the community and a light set on a hill.

10 believed and were baptized!

Over 10 people received Christ today in Tulushi and got baptized. Praises be to God! Pray for these new believers to learn to walk with the Lord and share their faith with others.
We also had the first Christian marriage last week among the Tulushi in Western Jebel! Pray for God’s blessing on this couple.

National missionaries

The National Missionary Training Center (NMTC) had a great first round. The training team came together marvelously well. Recruited from our partnership with the New Sudan Council of Churches, the first 17 national missionaries completed training in late February, and 15 were deployed by the end of March.
The first 5 out of 52 UUPGs have been engaged: Talodi Nuba, Borono, Shawabna, Talasa, and Kenen tribes.
These tribes have some contact with other people groups in this area, and the teams were able to have ‘spillover engagement’ with an additional six tribes!
Pray for blessing on these national missionaries and for many to respond to the Gospel.

Engaged!

Praise the Lord, we just finished an engagement through ADAPT Farming. The Longan and Logol Unengaged Unreached Muslim people groups are now engaged through Biblical farming foundation! Pray many would listen to our message and believe.

Sudanese missionaries

Sudan is currently experiencing the world’s largest and worst humanitarian crisis. 25 million people are in need of assistance. 10 million are displaced. There are genocidal activities against minority ethnically African people groups. Pray for peace in Sudan.
Pray for the 17 newly deployed Sudanese national missionaries to unengaged unreached people groups in Nuba Mts.

Oral Bible

Pray for the Scripture engagement and Oral Bible Translation project taking place right now in Nuba Mts among 6 languages. Pray for good translations and for many people to listen to God’s word in their heart language and believe!

Oral Bibles

Over the next 13 months, Nuba Wahid Cluster project will engage 31 different languages in various ways, including starting new translation projects, revising existing New Testaments, developing “JESUS” film scripts and more. They will also work to build capacity in churches for ongoing and sustainable Bible translation and Scripture engagement. Much of the Nuba church’s approach to make the Bible accessible to their communities is through oral Bible translation. Literacy levels are low across the region, and the easiest and clearest way of sharing the gospel will be through oral-based translation and distribution. Join us in praying that God will continue to equip Nuba churches for the journey that lies ahead of them, with many volunteers joining the work, so that people can access Scripture soon. The soil is ready for seeds to be planted!

Have mercy Lord!

The UN estimates 10.7 million people have fled their homes, 1.7 million beyond Sudan; 18.5 million live in acute hunger, 5 million in emergency hunger; i.e., likely to die within 6 weeks if not helped. In Khartoum, some received money from abroad, but now have no internet access. Shops are empty anyway, and people fear to leave home. Only 37% of farmland was cultivated last year. WFP has given food to 7 million people. So far it has only 4% of its 2024 budget. Recently Ukraine donated, and Germany transported 7.6 million kg of wheat flour, but it’s impossible to get food to many of the needy. Pray for God to have mercy.

Demonstrate compassion

Pray for the local believers in Nuba Mountains to respond to the needs of the communities and demonstrate compassion.
Pray for our partners on the ground in developing a strategy plan and be equipped to serve the affected communities.
Pray that these internally displaced persons (IDPs) will be catered to and ministered to according to their needs.

Pray for sustainable response for:
– Agriculture food Security /Sufficiency programs, specifically the FAITH Project (Food Always in the Home).
-Pray for ADAPT Program (Agriculture Development Aquaculture Production for Transformation.

Pray for Teachers Certificate & Diploma Training Program (Teach to Reach). For trained and sent out teachers to start schools among over 60 Unreached and Unengaged (UUPG) People Groups of Nuba Region.

Crisis response

Pray for the ongoing crisis response intervention in war torn Sudan, for provision of adequate resources, including Non-Food Items (NFI) and livelihood for the Displaced Communities.
Pray as we develop the crisis response strategy in responding to immediate needs of Sudanese believers and Muslim Internally Displaced communities.
Pray for the ability to send in the resources to where they are needed most.

Pray for the end of the war!
