On June 6, 45 million Algerians slaughtered a sheep and sought forgiveness for their sins on the biggest holiday of the Islamic calendar, Eid al Adha, or The Feast of the Sheep. As the story goes according to Islam, Abraham climbed the mountain with his son Ishmael and laid him upon the altar to demonstrate his commitment to God. Just as he raised the knife over his trembling son’s body, God provided a lamb.
The 46 million people and 34 unreached people groups of Algeria deserve to know that God did provide a Lamb, and His name is Jesus. There is no need to continue the spilling of blood, for through the blood of Jesus, atonement has been made for every Algerian.
