The Makhuwa Nahara of Mozambique

He has sent Me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Pray the Nahara would hear this good news and believe.

Location: Northern coastal Mozambique

History: Arab influence a century ago

Culture: The Nahara are a subgroup of the Makhuwa, which is the largest ethnic group in Mozambique comprising 40% of the population. They are fishermen. Modern education is not valued and illiteracy is very high.

Baptism and training

We praise God for those who converted to Jesus and were baptized recently. Please pray that they would grow strong in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and in their faith.

Thank God together with us  for the training, Bible studies and other activities we were able to do during the 1st semester of the year. Pray that the believers would grow in the Spirit.
