Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan

The Kenyan missionary couple who lived and worked among this people group are no longer there making it difficult to get any updates, but we can pray for the believers who are there. Pray that they found tremendous encouragement as they just celebrated the Easter weekend remembering what Christ has done for them.

Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan

As we begin this new year, we face drought and famine in this land. The rains have not been good and crops are poor. Please pray for famine relief to reach this area. But above all pray that the spiritual famine would be met too.

Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan

Please pray for the few Christian workers among this people group, that they would not be lead into temptation, that they would be a wonderful, clear, vibrant witness for those looking on. Pray for the Nyang’atom who see the Christians, like what they see, and long for the same for themselves. That they would enquire, and freely accept the great gift of salvation.

Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan

Coming to the close of the rainy season can bring a final spurt of heavy rain, but on the whole it means that the roads in and out of the area are drier and more accessible. Pray that the gospel would also be more accessible to those who have never heard the wonderful news of salvation in Jesus Christ..

Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan

Praise the Lord for a Kenya couple, missionaries, who are training, living and ministering among the Nyangatom. Pray for them to hear Gods leading in how best to reach this people group in South Sudan. With man this is a huge and daunting task, but with God it is accomplishable if it be His will.

Update on The Nyang’atom of Southern Sudan

An initiative in 2014 by an indigenous group began training Nyang’atom believers in using the Discovery Bible Study Method (DTS) for planting churches. However, the cost of bringing the trainers to this remote place has proved almost prohibitive. Therefore another group will be giving training in the T4T method (similar to DTS) to South Sudanese Nyang’atom believers and the Kenyan missionary couple (working with the AIC Church of S Sudan) later this year. Pray that those in training will be keen to use this training and to begin a church planting movement among their people, and the Kenyan couple will be encouraged to persevere.
