For the O. Pray for J and M, a Muslim teacher who engaged with a gospel presentation sharing time for an hour as IV fluids dripped into his sick wife, who was also listening and asking questions from her bed. Pray that the Holy Spirit would use these seeds, and so many like them to penetrate and enlighten peoples’ hearts, and draw them to respond by receiving Jesus’ love and saving grace!

“O Lord, open the blinded eyes, give life to the deadened hearts, that they may see, understand, turn and be healed by You.” May 2021 be the year of response, and a movement of people coming to know Jesus as Savior!

S, a man newly diagnosed with diabetes, has been open to listen to God’s Word. Pray that his fear will cause him to turn to Jesus, to embrace God’s grace in all of its truth.

“Oh Lord, enlighten the eyes of many O hearts and draw them to come to Jesus and to become His strong disciples who will make more disciples! In Jesus powerful name, amen.”

Our friend Z has made very little progress with her physical rehab from her stroke. We have had great opportunities to love through our deeds and our words. So far the family have remained resistant to Jesus. They are planning to move her back to the home village of her oldest brother, H, the leader we have also been praying for. That will be better for her long-term physical care. Persevere with us in praying for God’s healing grace for a physical and spiritual miracle: for salvation and that she would be able to walk again!

As Frank continues his clinical officer training, pray that God would put those in his path with a powerful witness of Jesus’ love and grace. Pray that Frank would be drawn to come to Jesus as Savior and make him Lord of his life. Pray that Frank would become useful to God as a strong disciple of Jesus among his own O family and communities!

A lady has proclaimed herself to have believed, and prayed for salvation through Jesus. Pray for the discipleship connections and follow up teaching to go well- this is where the seeds are so often choked, or fail to form good roots. Pray that she will grow in faith and have courage to share with others and make other disciples!

We’re still ministering to Z: praying, sharing, loving and working on rehab – slow progress and continuing resistance to the Gospel. She was ‘forced’ into occult ceremonies- which actually deepen the darkness and bondage. Keep praying for God’s miracle of saving and healing grace in Jesus name.

We have prayed for Z before: She and her brother are natural leaders. She is a best friend and clinic assistant and has had a severe stroke this past week. Our hearts are burdened with the physical needs for rehab and healing! Our hearts are even more burdened with the spiritual needs, knowing that right now she is perishing without Christ. Pray for a breakthrough against the kingdom of darkness – for God’s gracious drawing of her and her family into his kingdom! And for the physical healing for Z in the name , Power and authority of Jesus the Messiah!

A young man we’ll call Frank is in medical training, and has been working with us in our medical ministry to get more experience and knowledge during his Covid delays from finishing his schooling. So Frank has been exposed to daily Bible teaching, prayer and regular witness through our clinic work. He’s gone from strong resistance to softened seeking for truth. Pray that the Holy Spirit would convict his heart and draw him to the Father as a strong disciple of Jesus who will be used powerfully to make more disciples….

Pray for God to lead us to share with those who He’s been working in and drawing – that all of our team may bear much lasting fruit.

Pray for our O chiefs and leaders, and their extended families to respond to the Gospel message! May they lead their people into the most important decisions ever made – to become disciples of Jesus who will be obedient to go and make more disciples.

Pray for O who is diligently seeking for answers and understanding of Scripture. May God convict his heart and draw him to become a wholehearted disciple of Jesus who will make more disciples who will make more…

Thank you for praying. PTL that God has convicted Mike’s wife to turn away from seeking to please people, and commit to wholeheartedly following Jesus (again!)  Pray that she’s genuine and will bear eternal fruit! Pray for God’s empowerment of Mike in Scripture translation, and that the organization will allow him to move back close to his home and family – who need him.

Pray that God would draw our Chiefs and sub- Chiefs and headman and their families into his kingdom. This would take a miracle of God‘s love and saving grace. May these leaders be allowed by their community and used by God to lead their families and people to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior!

Mike is a strong O believer who is also a gifted Bible translator. His wife continues to struggle- She has proclaimed faith in Jesus, but has no fruit. Pray that she would whole heartedly follow Jesus and not keep trying to please her family and community. Pray that her and Mike could have real unity in following Jesus together and leading their family in godly ways.

We know from Ephesians 6 that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world. Pray against these evil rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, pray in Jesus name and authority that they will be prevented and frustrated in their work to keep O people in fear, bondage, darkness and deception. Pray that MANY O will have courage to respond to the Good News that is broadly being shared, and that the people movement of becoming disciples of Jesus may begin yet in 2020!

Pray for H and his sister Z. They are both natural leaders in the O communities. They both have serious health concerns, high BP, diabetes and strokes in their recent past. Pray that God would use these stressful concerns to draw them to himself, that they would repent from following I$lam, and lead their families and community in following Jesus, and making disciples.

Pray for O backsliders who at one time proclaimed that they believed and received Jesus as Savior, but then due to community persecutions and pressures they turned back to I$lam. Pray that they wholeheartedly come back to follow Jesus, embrace persecution and become mighty tools in making more disciples of Jesus.

Pray in Jesus name against the schemes, flaming arrows, darkness and deception our enemy uses to keep people in fear and bondage in his kingdom of darkness. May the Good News which is widely shared be received and believed – setting the captives free! Bringing joy instead of despair! and beauty rather than ashes (and all of Isaiah 61:1-3 fulfilled)!

Pray for Mike and others who continue to work towards the completion of the Jesus film and other Bible translation projects – pray that the Holy Spirit will anoint them with wisdom, discernment and ability to see the O. scriptures accurately translated and engaged with on a large scale. Also pray for Mike’s wife to be growing and genuine in putting Christ first in her life!

It’s been so long, so let’s intensify asking, seeking, and knocking for three more strong O. disciples yet this year to join the four who are currently faithfully desiring to obey God in every way. Pray for  the beginning of a disciple -making movement! Keep praying for O. eyes to really see, and O. ears to listen, hear and understand, and O. hearts to turn and be healed. In Jesus name and power! Amen.

Pray again for Mike, the O MBB working with Bible translation. He’s had to leave his family behind while he lives a ways away to do his work and be trained. Pray for his wife who has claimed to receive Jesus, but continues to struggle against the persecution of family relationships that want to draw her back and keep her strong in Islam. Pray that God would strengthen her with knowledge and wisdom and depth of intimate relationship with Him – and that she would be a strong disciple of Jesus and also be a disciple who makes more disciples!

Mike is an 0 MBB who is gifted in working with Bible translation. He is key in helping organize the O Jesus film dubbing. There have been many delays – so pray for God‘s timing and the right people willing to dub the voices. And pray that the work may be completed accurately and well, and that the O Jesus film will be a tool God uses to advance his Kingdom in O land.

The name Abdi means hope or trust – and is a very common name here. Pray that God would draw many of the of ABDI’s and their families to become strong disciples of Jesus who will make more disciples who will make more disciples of Jesus – beginning the O people group disciple making movement!

Pray for 4 Bible study groups scheduled to meet this week – that they would not fear but hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness. Pray that the Holy Spirit would grant them understanding, and that many would respond to receive salvation through Jesus.

Pray for a young widow woman, M, who has studied the Bible with us a lot, but doesn’t seem to have a real hunger to learn more and grow. Now she has been making some decisions which have led most of the village to conclude that she is living immorally. Pray that she will seek God‘s leading in all her decisions, and obey and be pure, and wholeheartedly decide to follow Jesus and become a strong disciple!

There were 2 extended families groups interested in Bible study before Ramadan, but they wanted to wait until the fast finished. Now they’ve been giving lots of excuses. Meanwhile another family has agreed to 2 studies and invited another visit. Pray that God will get 2 groups going and that the studies will lead those families to receive Jesus as Lord and become strong disciples who will make more disciples!

Ramadan is coming to an end for our Mu$lim community here. Tonight is the 27th day of Ramadan,  known as the night of power. Tonight, while Mu$lim’s are diligently trying to please God and hear from Him, let’s pray for the people in the world of Islam, and specifically for many O here to have revelations, dreams and visions that will lead them to Jesus, and cause them to seek for Jesus and receive Him as Lord and Savior!

Many of our close O neighbors and those from far away who come to our clinics continue to hear the Good News. As they seek forgiveness through their Ramadan fasting, may God convict their hearts of their need for His grace through Jesus to forgive their sins, and transform them to hunger and thirst for His truth and relationship with Him! Pray this specifically for 2 extended families we’ve been sharing with, F&H and SG.

The O do not like the idea of social distancing- most refuse to stop shaking hands in greeting, saying that it shows a lack of faith in God not to touch. They’re quite convinced they’re right. Hard hearted even! Pray that God will soften hard hearts to His eternal truths of salvation through Jesus alone! May the Holy Spirit draw many into His kingdom of light while they still have the opportunity to receive His grace in all of His truth.

Sharing the gospel with the O in a little different way – including the story of the two kingdoms, light and darkness, has really resonated with many O people who say they want the light! Pray for two family groups who are debating whether they are willing to study this story more in depth. Pray that they will choose to study God‘s word, and seek to find, understand and receive God‘s gift of light through Jesus.

Praise God for several women who received the gift of salvation! Now for challenging follow up, especially for the ones who live far away! Pray for Ex, New Mom, and her 3 guests to tell others the Good News they’ve heard, and to hunger and seek for more Truth and to talk much with God.

Pray for 3 new contacts for the team and believers – for discipleship and facilitating Bible studies through them. So many seeds are planted regularly among the O, pray that God would draw them to respond and receive and start the disciple making movement now – in 2020!

A young believer had an ongoing ministry with neighboring children who would come to her house in the evenings to read an O Bible story book and talk. Recently the kids stopped coming- she doesn’t know why. Pray that the kids would come back to hear more.

Z is a highly respected woman in our communities who knows the Gospel well and has regular exposure to reading and hearing God’s Word -yet she remains resistant. Her children, M&N also know and even have memorized much Scripture through Kid’s Club. Pray that God would get their attention and they’ll open their hearts to His grace in all of its truth and receive Jesus as the greatest gift ever.

An O believing family had a miscarriage this week. Pray for God’s healing physically and emotionally, and that spiritually they will grow in their faith and relationship with God as He holds them close in this hard time. Pray for the O communities around them who have such deep needs for healing from Jesus: “Oh Lord, stretch out your hand to heal where there is need among the O, physically, emotionally and most of all spiritually to come to know Jesus as their Savior, Healer and Deliverer!”

Pray against the schemes of the enemy to bring division and strife among 2 families of believers. God knows the details. Pray for them to choose the way of Jesus- forgiveness and grace for those who’ve offended us, as we’ve also been forgiven and given grace even when we didn’t deserve it.

Pray for our clinic workers who are involved in regular Bible study – pray that they will respond to God‘s word – “Yes Lord, as you promised that your Word will not return empty and void, but will accomplish all that You have planned and purposed for it. Thank you for the ways you are going to work this out in O-land.”

Praise God that Mike is a strong long-standing O believer. Pray that God will lead him clearly for every step of decisions regarding becoming a Bible translator, and that he would be able to keep his family, fellowship and witness in the village with our team if he becomes a translator. His wife needs prayer to give whole hearted allegiance to Jesus. Pray that she would grow in her faith, knowledge and relationship with Jesus. Pray that she would put God first rather than continuing to try to please her Muslim family.
