Rest and Peace in God

Pray that the believers among the Didinga would find their rest and peace in God and His love for them (Psalm 62).

Right people to come

Pray God will send the right people to go into the Didinga Hills and proclaim the Gospel to those who have not yet heard the good news of Jesus.

Strong and Courageous

Pray that the Didinga believers will be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9), believing that God is always with them. Pray they will be bold in living out their faith and sharing it with their friends and family.

Peace for Eternity

As God has set eternity into the hearts of men (Ecclesiastes 3:11), pray that the Didinga will seek and turn to the only One who can bring them peace for eternity.

Praises for a great start to the new year

Praise God that the Lord is moving in the Didinga Hills! We had a good Christmas and New Years celebration and people are excited to see what the Lord will do in the new year. Eleven people who attend the Nagishot church want to be baptized. In another area where the Jesus film has been shown a few times, the people asked for someone to come and story the Bible. So we’ve been Bible storying each Wednesday morning to an eager group of listeners! Pray for these who will soon be baptized and this group who are hearing the Word of God. And pray for more workers to come join the harvest here.

Earthly and Heavenly Clothes

Pray that as people seek to buy new clothes for Christmas that they would look inside themselves and seek to know the Savior that can wash their sins away and clothe them in righteousness. Pray for hearts and lives to be changed as the Jesus film is shown out in communities each week.

Crops bring food and troubles

With a good crop of maize people have much to eat. They also have plenty of maize to brew and there is much drunkenness. Please pray that people would see the damage being done and cease brewing and selling their brew. Pray that they would seek fulfillment in their Savior and not the things of the earth.

His love to shine this season

Praise God that the wheat crop is growing well this year. Pray that hearts would be moved towards the Son this Christmas. Pray that the little church in Nagishot would show His love in a meaningful way this Christmas season. Pray for more workers to come to the Didinga Hills to share the Good News!

Hungry Hearts

Pray for the Lord to move in the hearts of many Didinga that they would take time out of their busy days to learn about Jesus. Pray as hearts hunger to know Jesus that a disciple making movement would take root and move swiftly through the hills. Pray for the few believers that they would remain faithful to the Lord. Pray for a strong man to come pastor the small church in Nagishot.

Praise for rain and language

Praise God for a great rainy season in the Didinga hills, people are enjoying an abundant maize crop, they will slowly harvest their maize during the coming months. Pray for open hearts for the gospel as the Jesus film is shown in communities, pray for small bible studies to form as a result. Praise God that the New Testament in the Didinga language has been found and added to the recorders!

Audio Bible recording needed

Pray that the Bible would be recorded in the Didinga language so it can be added to the audio ‘Bible story tellers’ players, that many may hear God’s Word and believe in Jesus.

Bible stories in Didinga

Please pray for many to hear the Word of God as audio players- ‘Bible Story Tellers’ are distributed in Didinga communities with Bible stories in the Didinga language and the Bible in English on them. Faith comes from hearing, pray many would hear and believe.

Blessing on outreach

Pray for the small Church here in Nagishot as it does outreach in the community after church most Sundays. Pray for open hearts to hear the Good News. And pray for desperately needed rain!

Hunger for the Word

Pray the Didinga would be hungry for the word of God and eager to know Him. Pray for clear bold gospel proclamation and grace to believe.

Excitement in Nagishot

Ask God to open doors for fruitful ministry among the Didinga. This past weekend saw the long anticipated missionaries arriving in Nagishot, after a period of not having any on the ground for over a year. Pray the people would not only welcome them, help them settle and learn language, but be open to hearing the good news they bring. The new arrivals are working with a young pastor. Pray for unity and great team work.

‘Elale’ (thank you)

As one of the few areas in this war weary land that is still relatively safe from the fighting, we do indeed thank the Lord! The Didinga are, however, still badly affected by the rest of the country’s troubles of run away inflation and food shortages. They have crops that they can harvest to survive, but are unable to afford anything else, like oil, sugar, salt, soap, etc. The church struggles on with the few believers. Pray for many more Didinga to come to know the Lord and Savior! Pray for workers to serve the Lord among the Didinga in this beautiful mountain range.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

With the country of South Sudan in such turmoil and suffering at this time, after the breakout of violence again in the capital city, Juba, the Didinga people also suffer. Their suffering is mainly that of hunger (as in many parts of SS). They are sufficiently isolated so as not to face the danger as many other places are. Pray that their crops will bring in a great harvest that enable them to not only survive, but to be able to share their harvest with those who have little to none. Pray that even in all this unsettling turmoil, many would turn to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray for the new appointed pastor for Nagishot

Gods ways are not our ways, and this is obvious as we learn that the young pastor who was due to arrive to pick up the ministry in Nagishot, in the Didinga mountains, is not coming. Instead, another, less qualified young man, has been appointed for Nagishot. Please pray about these disappointing changes. Pray that this other pastor will turn out to be exactly what was needed for this ministry among the unreached Didinga people.

Prayer for ministry in Nagishot

We had hoped that by now the proposed pastor and his family would have begun their ministry in Nagishot and surrounding areas. He has been delayed for some reason so please pray that he (Nakaris) would come soon. Please pray specifically for Lolkolang, who is terribly discouraged and yet pushes ahead, often on his own, in his Christian walk. Praise God for the continued assistance from the Chukudum AIC church who still send their youth members up the mountain to try and sustain and encourage the few believers.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

Please pray for the Nagishot, Didinga church which is still struggling along, experiencing major discouragment. Pray that the planned courses being considered before more missionaries and a pastor can get on the ground later this year, will be used by the Lord to encourage and strengthen the believers.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

With the New Year comes new promises of something good, praise God for this. We have a young Didinga Christian man called Nakarisse, who fled for his life a couple of years ago, when his life was threatened because he was unable to pay the going bride price. Nakarisse fled to Narus where he has continued to grow in the Lord. The really good news is that he is prepared to return as the Pastor for the small struggling church in Nagishot. What great news and we do indeed praise our God. Please pray for him as he prepares to return. That his wifes family would accept them back with no animosity. That he would be warmly welcomed back into the church as Pastor. He needs great counsel from the Lord during these days ahead.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

The small church up in the Didinga mountains remains without a pastor, please pray that the few believers would be able to stay encouraged during this difficult time. Praise the Lord for the church at the bottom of the mountain who have an active roster of keen youth who happily trek up each week to meet with the church for encouragement.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

This rainy season has not been all that good for the main maize crop, but ploughing is underway for the second crop – that of wheat. Please pray that the Didinga would humble themselves before the Lord and call on Him while He may be found. Pray that as they plant and reap, they would know it is God who provides.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

Please pray for the Didinga, in the Nagishot area, to have open and soft hearts as they hear the gospel as a small group to study Firm Foundations, Creation to Christ, not for the first time either. Let them really hear and respond with joy and thanksgiving.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

The last prayer update continues to be situation up in the Didinga mountains at Nagishot. There is still no pastor for this small gathering of Didinga people each Sunday. The missionaries continue to step in and assist where they can. There is a sense of spiritual warfare as each step forward results in two back. Please pray for the Didinga, pray for the few believers who are trying to make sense of the situation in their country, and also among their own people and the pastors behaviour. There are hard hearts, pray for them to be softened.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

1 Peter 5:8 ‘Be sober minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.’
This verse is a reality, and we often don’t take it seriously enough. The Pastor has fallen to temptation and left the area. The small struggling church has been floundering with no leader. Please pray for the pastor. Please pray for someone to come and lead this small congregation to salvation and maturity. Please pray that as we prepare for a new team of missionaries to come here, the ones chosen by God would be willing and enabled to come and serve here among the Didinga people.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

It’s been a busy month as the Didinga planted their second crop of the year – wheat. Their first crop of maize was a good one, and the rains continue to water the wheat. Oh, if only they would turn and thank the wonderful, Almighty, Provider, Creator God. Please pray!!

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

The rainy season has arrived fiercely. The Didinga are ploughing and planting wheat and beans furiously to catch this good rainy season. The maize crop is still to be harvested, and the fear is that much of it may be damaged by the heavy rains. But mainly the Didinga are unreached with the gospel, Jesus, who is the living water and who reigns in few Didinga lives. Pray for them to have hearts longing to hear of this wonderful Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

Two young men, Logie and Lokolang are taking Gods Word more seriously, trying to relate what God says to their experiences in life, and generally seeking more knowledge about God. Please pray for these two young men, that they would seek Him with genuine hearts and attempt to live as He asks.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

For the last few months the people of the village of Tuba have been visited and spoken to about the Lord Jesus, please pray for them to not only hear, but to turn and be saved. Pray for leading to the one who will be first to believe in the wonderful message of salvation.

Update on The Didinga of South Sudan

Schools have reopened in South Sudan after the school holidays, but in Nagishot they still have not reopened. There are only a couple of small schools serving many, many children. Each school term looses weeks as either the teachers don’t pitch up, or the parents keep their children away as they are needed to care for younger siblings or work in fields. Please pray that education would be seen as an important part of a young persons upbringing, even in the remote parts of South Sudan.
