Christmas and Yalda celebrations

Diaspora in Finland: We give praise that the Christmas parties went well.
I was invited to an Iranian traditional Yalda Night celebration after a conversation with an Iranian man at one of the Christmas parties. It was very interesting being the only “foreigner” among about 30 Iranian Muslims. Most were students or professors at the University.
Pray for wisdom in following up with people from the Christmas parties and with 2 of the Iranian men from the Yalda Night party. Pray God would open their hearts to receive Emmanuel.

Drawing Yemenis

Diaspora in Germany: Praise God for 2 new Yemeni friends that I met in another city in Germany. Our visit went wonderfully well with R&M, R gave his life to Jesus today, praise the Lord! Let’s keep praying for him, he is 200 km from us. He was asking if there is someone who can disciple him and he would love to get baptized! He already started talking to the other Yemenis in the Camp.
We know other Yemenis brothers, two are part of Injil and one is leading a group. Praise God how He is drawing Yemenis in Europe.

Came to church

Diaspora in Washington DC: Praise God for a former English student who came to visit us and came with us for a worship service at church. His English has grown tremendously and he seems to be growing in his depth of conversation as well. Praise God for his openness to attend church. Pray the Lord will continue to work in his life and draw him to Himself.

Women meeting

Diaspora in Canada: A small group of North African women meet twice a month to share a meal and discuss a theme. We take a biblical text to begin the discussion. 4 women participate regularly and really enjoy this time. Pray for them, that the Holy Spirit enlightens them and gives wisdom in the discussions.

Have mercy

Diaspora in Hong Kong: Please pray for Y, an Indonesian Muslim who is married to a Malian Muslim. Her weary soul yearns for You. May You show us the way to share the gospel with her.
Pray for L as we have been reading the Injil, but her mind has not been stable. We ask for Your mercy upon her.

Chance to share

Diaspora in Minnesota: Praise God I was given a chance to share at the Somali Community Center event. Pray for opportunities to have follow up conversations.

Winter camp

Diaspora in France: Pray for the AEM International Student winter camp from
27th Dec – 2nd Jan. Pray for many students to register and for the team as they prepare the program and share the Gospel and live as Christian community for the week. This has proven to be an excellent time for students who have been participating in the international students gatherings throughout the year to go deeper in discovering Christ and his church.

Parenting class

Diaspora in England: Praise God that the Kids Matter parenting course finished so well and for the new relationships built. Pray for these mothers to seek God.
Pray for opportunities to share the Christmas story in English classes.

ESL party

Diaspora in Georgia: Pray for the Lord to work in the hearts of my ESL students during the Christmas season, and especially that they will understand the gospel so they can celebrate the birth of Jesus with His joy this year.
Pray that the ESL party tomorrow will be well-attended.

Christmas party

Diaspora in Michigan: Please pray for our Christmas party Saturday the 16th. We are having an open house style party and highlighting the Biblical narrative from Luke 2. Pray for all those who come to listen well with open hearts.

International students and refugees

Diaspora in Finland: Pray for a new group who are developing into a outreach team to reach international students and refugees. Pray for successful development for a Christmas outreach on the Oulu University on the 16th of December. Pray also for the formation of three DBS groups with refugees.

Live nativity

Diaspora in Michigan: Pray that our Refugee Christmas party on December 16 goes well, that many will come and interact with the live nativity to learn what the True Christmas story is all about. Pray for wisdom for me and the others helping with this to know how to explain things well so God’s story is understood and sown on good soil.

Church-Mosque meeting

Diaspora in Florida: Pray that the meeting between a mosque and a church discussing “Who is Jesus” will happen in December. It’s been postponed 4 times.

Christmas parties

Diaspora in Florida: Pray for upcoming Christmas Parties/student events today, and on Dec 18 & 20th. Pray for clear gospel presentations and receptive hearts to respond.

Street evangelism

Diaspora in Canada: Victor also plans to teach Christianity Explored to seekers coming to church in January. Pray for seekers to sign up through December.
Pray that the Lord would open the hearts of people hearing the gospel through street evangelism and Christmas carols through December.

Christmas party

Diaspora in France: Tomorrow we will have a Christmas party here. It is in some ways going to be the climax of all our work this semester. We are expecting around 50 students, a vast majority from unreached people groups, and they will all step inside a church for the first time and also hear the Gospel for the first time. We have also mobilized multiple local churches so that we can work together and also mobilize workers. So please pray for us. We would really appreciate it.

Gospel conversations

Diaspora in Florida: Linda is tutoring the son of our Muslim friend “Gigi.” Pray for gospel conversations with her and her son. Kevin gave “Seeking Allah Finding Jesus” to his Muslim friend “Larry.” Please pray that they can follow up this week.

Importance of Christmas

Diaspora in Wales: Pray for open hearts and minds of the ladies attending the English and Sewing classes as we explain the importance of Christmas (Dec 4,5 & 11). We will have special Christmas activities on Monday, Dec 11th.

African Group

Diaspora in Hong Kong: Pray for another newly formed African group, consisting mainly of mothers and young children. Pray we can take advantage of the location and attract some Muslim families from the nearby kindergarten. Pray for good relationships and gospel opportunities.

Walls fall down.

Diaspora in Georgia: Praise the Lord for His power to make walls fall down. Pray that as the walls of Jericho fell, the Lord will break down all the walls that hold Muslim people in this area captive and that Christians from all our local churches will befriend them and share the gospel with them. Pray that there will be a great movement to Jesus Christ.

Open hearts

Diaspora in Hong Kong: Pray for F family and for Y family, that they may open their hearts to Jesus during our home visits.
Pray for S, a devoted Muslim, that she may open her heart to learning more about Jesus. We are thankful that our friendship is growing.
Pray for L, who has lost motivation to read the scriptures. May the Holy Spirit strengthen her heart to seek Him.

Promises

Diaspora in France: Wednesday is a highlight for us as we visit Alistair, Rachel and family. Having worked our way through the promises of our book to their fulfilment, we have now gone back to the beginning. Pray that as these stories become more familiar, they will see their relevance to their own hearts and acknowledge their need before God.

Harvest

Diaspora in Wales: Pray for a spiritual harvest among our students as we restart the women’s conversation class.

Love of Christ

Diaspora in Michigan: Praise God for 10 newly arrived immigrant families in Sep. and Oct. we are working with to help them settle. Pray God would strengthen the relationships between these families and the US families helping them. May they see the love of Christ.

Outreach

Diaspora in Germany: Praise God for the outreach we have done in Bayern, reaching out to many Muslims. Praise for the three Syrian families the Injil team met who invited them to come and have lunch and hear about the Lord. Pray for follow up and for the Holy Spirit to draw them to Jesus.
Pray for S family (mother and three kids) who have heard the gospel and are open to hear more.

Start a group

Diaspora in Finland: Praise for the connection with Muslims from 4-5 different countries. Pray that our relationships with these people will grow. Pray they would be willing to study the Bible together.

Seeking Jesus

Diaspora in France: Continue praying for Carla as she seeks Jesus so intently.
Pray for our Turkish friends that we shared the Gospel with, that these seeds would bear fruit and that Jesus would reveal Himself to them.

Celebrations

Diaspora in California: Pray for the International Student ministry this month. The majority of the students are from India and will be celebrating their Festival of Lights, Diwali, November 12th. May they come to know Jesus, The Light of the World.
My church is hosting a Thanksgiving Dinner for International students November 18th. We are praying for 50 students to come. May they hear and understand why we, as Christians, are thankful and who we give our thanks to.

Make connections

Diaspora in Canada: Pray as I make connections with some of our older campers who have technically “aged out” of camp. We want to encourage and mentor these youth and continue to be a witness and source of support. Pray that we have a good turn out for our camp follow up event, Club Soar, planned for November.

Gospel-clarifying conversation

Diaspora in Michigan: Praise God Cali went to church with me twice and we had a good Gospel-clarifying conversation. Pray God would work through the barriers in her heart to reveal Himself to her and her need for Him.

Open hearts

Diaspora in Florida: Pray for my meetings with a local imam and with a young Muslim man this week. and for Linda’s meetings with Muslim ladies in the pipeline. Pray for the Holy Spirit to open their hearts to hearing gospel truth.

Struggling

Diaspora in Canada: Pray for the many colleagues I work alongside with who are really suffering and struggling with the conflict in the middle east, many who are Muslim, specifically S. and A. Pray that I could be salt and light in the interactions I have with them and that the Prince of Peace would reveal Himself to them.

Pray for understanding

Diaspora in France: Amanda appreciates very much the Scripture portions we are able to share with her in her own language. Ask for good understanding and a desire to know more. Continue to pray for her son, Billy, who is currently in prison. Pray he ponders the Truth he has heard and submits to the Lord.

Heavy burdens

Diaspora in Georgia: Praise the Lord for a Nigerian sister in a nearby mobile home park who has opened her home and invited neighbors to come for Bible study. Pray for that group to grow and especially for the immigrants who live there to come. Pray for the gospel of John and the fellowship time to greatly encourage the women who have many heavy burdens.

New neighborhood

Diaspora in Georgia: Praise the Lord for ongoing friendship and visits with Ms families. Pray for the salvation of S’s family and M’s family. Pray for an open door to minister in another new neighborhood where there are several Africans from Cameroon. Pray that my friend Cindy will open her home to host a women’s gathering. Pray for salvation to come to that neighborhood.

Healing and friendship

Diaspora in Georgia: Pray for A, an Afghan M woman I recently visited with an outreach group in Clarkston, GA, for healing from her cancer and most important, spiritual healing.
Pray that friendship would continue to develop and deepen with my friends F and Z.

More students

Diaspora in Toronto: Pray for Victor as he teaches on the book of Genesis to newer Iranian believers in order to build a good foundation. Unfortunately, very few students attend the class. Pray for their desire for the Lord not to grow cold.
Victor also plans to teach Christianity Explored to seekers coming to church in January. Pray for seekers coming to church to sign up.

Mosque-Church meeting

Diaspora in Florida: Pray for the mosque and church meeting scheduled for October 14th to discuss, “Who is Jesus?” Pray for truth to be clear.

Seeking truth

Diaspora in Minnesota: Pray for Mr. M. and Mr. H. Both are seeking the truth. May they find it and passionately follow Him.

Asking questions

Diaspora in France: Praise God for the good visit with Senegalese friends. Praise God for the husband who asked many questions and eagerly took a Bible with plans to meet again for discussion. Pray that Travis can start meeting together regularly even with their busy schedule as restaurant owners.
Praise for Travis’ French friend with a Catholic background who is asking many questions about the reality of a relationship with God. Pray for wisdom for Travis as they meet, and for the Holy Spirit to guide him to salvation.
